Pi Network Core Team Claims Superiority Over Other Crypto Projects: Here’s Why

It has been over a year since the official launch of Pi Network, but more than half a decade since the project started attracting users.

Within this timeframe, its community, known as Pioneers, has grown into the millions, the team said, and recently outlined why their user base actually means more than those on other chains.

The post on the only official X account linked to the project noted that there are over 18 million identity-verified users within the broader Pi Network ecosystem. However, although this is by far not the most significant number for any blockchain, as some of the largest have hundreds of millions of active wallets over the years, the team outlined where it differs and is supposedly superior to most.

“1 million verified users on Pi ≠ 1 million users on other networks.”

This is because most other networks measure growth in simple account numbers, and very few look at the verified users. In contrast, the Core Team behind Pi Network said it “recognized the importance of identity verification early on and that unverified account creation is simply not enough.”

“Verified identities are needed for any meaningful transactions, especially in real-world economies.”

Whenever an asset is transferred, it “raises a basic question of identity: who is sending it, and who is receiving it.” If those identities remain unknown, it’s more difficult to trust that the transfer is valid or that it went to the correct receiver, the team added.

This is why they decided to build a “fully KYC-verified Mainnet ecosystem,” which reduces spam and increases trustworthiness.

ETH recently climbed from the $2,220 support zone and briefly touched a local high near $2,417 before entering a mild correction phase. Despite the pullback, the asset has remained stable above $2,320 and continues to trade above its 100-hour simple moving average, signaling that bullish momentum is still intact.
Market structure on the hourly chart shows a contracting triangle forming, with key resistance concentrated around $2,380. This level is now seen as a critical breakout point for the next move higher.
If buyers manage to push ETH decisively above $2,380, the next resistance targets are expected at $2,400 and $2,440. A sustained breakout beyond that range could open the path toward $2,500 and potentially $2,550 in the near term.
On the downside, failure to break above resistance may trigger a short-term pullback. Initial support lies near $2,330, followed by stronger support around $2,295. A break below these levels could expose ETH to further downside toward $2,265 and the $2,200 zone.

While Bitcoin shows signs of strength, attention is shifting to XRP, which may finally be turning a corner.
$XRP, the native asset of the XRP Ledger, has just flashed its first bullish signal in three months. According to analyst Ali Martinez, the SuperTrend indicator on the daily chart flipped to a buy signal on April 18—potentially signaling the end of a prolonged downtrend that began back in mid-January.
It hasn’t been an easy ride. XRP dropped roughly 27% in Q1 2026, falling from around $2.4 to a low near $1.16—its worst quarterly performance in eight years. Currently trading near $1.44, the asset is still down over 60% from its all-time high of $3.6.
A key level to watch is $1.55, which has repeatedly acted as resistance. A strong breakout above this zone could open the door to $1.9—about 30% upside from current levels.
Beyond price action, there’s a bigger story unfolding. Wrapped XRP (wXRP) has officially launched on the Solana network, allowing holders to access DeFi opportunities like trading, yield farming, and liquidity provision—without selling their XRP.
This integration connects XRP to a fast-growing DeFi ecosystem, including platforms like Jupiter and Phantom, powered by infrastructure from Hex Trust and LayerZero Labs.
Importantly, wXRP is fully backed 1:1 with XRP held in custody, ensuring it remains redeemable at any time while expanding its utility beyond the XRP Ledger.

ETF inflows are increasing, but price action is contradicting this.

XRP ETF inflows have increased for three consecutive days. According to CoinGlass data, $10.9 million flowed in on Tuesday, and approximately $1.46 million flowed in on Monday.  Cumulative inflows have reached $1.23 billion, with an average net asset value under management of approximately $966 million. This funding comes from genuine institutional investors, yet XRP remains resilient at the $1.40 resistance level.

The context is crucial. The XRP ETF launched in November 2025, attracting $1 billion in inflows within just four weeks. Subsequently, inflows turned into net outflows in March, with redemptions of approximately $130 million. This reversal was one of the key reasons for the continued decline in XRP's price. Currently, XRP's price has hovered below $1.40 for several weeks, and the tailwind from the ETF alone is insufficient to drive a price breakout.

Iran's Friday announcement that the Strait of Hormuz would be opened during the current ceasefire triggered one of the sharpest oil reversals of the year.

Brent crude fell 12.95% to $86.52, and WTI dropped 14.26% to $81.19, both their lowest levels since Mar. 11 and the largest single-day declines since Apr. 8. US stocks surged, bond yields dropped, the dollar weakened, and Bitcoin registered an intraday high of $78,336.

Traders stripped the war premium they had spent weeks layering into crude prices, and risk assets repriced accordingly.

Yesterday, the Strait was opened on Iranian terms. Commercial vessels required authorization from Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization and the IRGC and had to transit through Iran-designated safe lanes, but the US blockade on Iranian shipping remains fully in place until a broader diplomatic settlement.

That window has already narrowed. As of Apr. 18, Iran said it had closed the Strait again after the US left its blockade in place, pushing the market back into a countdown toward the Apr. 22 ceasefire deadline.

Only eight oil and gas tankers moved during the reopening, underscoring how far the route remains from anything resembling normal traffic.
