Analyst Claims Selling Pressure on XRP’s Twin Altcoin May Have Eased



Ali Martinez, an analyst closely followed in the cryptocurrency markets for his technical analysis, shared a new assessment highlighting critical levels for Stellar ($XLM).

According to Martinez, the $XLM price has been moving within a distinct channel since February. During this period, each upward attempt has been rejected at the $0.179 level, followed by a pullback to the $0.147 support zone. The analyst argues that this pattern has formed a recurring price behavior for months.

Martinez noted that recent developments show $XLM is once again approaching the $0.179 resistance level, stating that this area has historically acted as a strong “sell” zone. However, he added that this level is about to be tested for the fourth time, and pointed out that in technical analysis, frequently tested resistance levels tend to weaken over time.

According to Martinez, the critical scenario for investors will be a daily close above this level. The analyst stated that a clear break above $0.179 could indicate that the selling pressure accumulated in this region has been exhausted.

Martinez stated that this situation could trigger a strong upward movement in the $XLM price, predicting that the first target after a possible breakout could be around $0.22, representing a rise of approximately 20 percent.

Shifting stablecoin flows across Layer-1s are something investors watch closely. 

The logic is simple: More liquidity means more room for capital rotation. More importantly for DeFi, it strengthens a chain’s role as a settlement layer, locking in its position as core infra for decentralized flow.

According to DeFiLlama data, something similar is unfolding now. USDT supply is split almost evenly across Ethereum (44.34%) and Tron (45.57%), leaving a very tight gap between the two.

In that context, Tether minting $1 billion USDT on Ethereum [ETH] meaningfully tilts liquidity weight back toward ETH rails.

The result?

USDT monthly supply growth on TRON [TRX] has been up 0.44% versus Ethereum’s 3.19%, narrowing the gap further. But beyond that divergence, the real signal is on-chain activity.

AMBCrypto recently noted that Ethereum saw over 200 million in transaction volume in Q1, marking its busiest quarter yet.

But zooming out on stablecoin flows, this isn’t a one-off move. USDC usage on Ethereum hit an all-time high in March, with monthly volume surpassing $1.8 trillion, while Tether’s USAT saw a 714% market cap jump in a single month

The company recently announced a partnership with South Korea’s major insurer Kyobo Life Insurance to explore the feasibility of tokenized Treasury settlement within the country’s financial system. The initiative aims to modernize traditional settlement infrastructure by leveraging blockchain-based tokenization and enabling faster, 24/7 financial transactions.
Under the collaboration, Ripple will provide its institutional-grade custody technology to securely store and transfer tokenized assets. This step is designed to support regulated financial institutions as they experiment with blockchain-based settlement systems in a controlled environment.
Fiona Murray, Managing Director for Asia Pacific at Ripple, emphasized that Korea’s institutional market is entering a turning point, noting that digital asset infrastructure is now “ready for real-world deployment” rather than just future potential.
This development follows another key milestone earlier in April, when South Korea’s Coinone exchange integrated RLUSD, Ripple’s USD-pegged stablecoin, further expanding its footprint in the Korean crypto ecosystem.
While XRP has seen a mild pullback over the past week, growing institutional adoption and increasing interest in spot XRP ETFs are fueling expectations of renewed momentum ahead.
Overall, Ripple’s latest moves highlight a clear strategy: deepening institutional partnerships in Asia as the region becomes a key testing ground for tokenized finance.

Ripple уверена, что активное институциональное внедрение может привести к притоку средств в спотовые ETF на XRP в США до целевого уровня JPMorgan в 4–8,4 млрд долларов.

Bitcoin (BTC) Price: Surge to $78K Reversed After Iran Closes Strait of Hormuz Again
Bitcoin surged to $78,000 after Iran briefly reopened the Strait of Hormuz, then fell back to $76,000 when the strait closed again within 24 hours.

The rally triggered $762 million in crypto liquidations, with $593 million wiping out short positions.

Spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in nearly $1 billion in weekly inflows — their best week since January.

Morgan Stanley launched a Bitcoin Trust fund, which already holds $120 million in assets after just six trading days.

Ether, XRP, BNB, and Solana all posted weekly gains despite the weekend pullback.

Bitcoin had a wild week driven by geopolitical headlines out of the Middle East. The price swung sharply in both directions as news around the Strait of Hormuz changed fast.

On Friday, Iran’s foreign minister announced the Strait of Hormuz was reopened to commercial shipping for the duration of a ceasefire. U.S. President Donald Trump backed the claim, saying Iran had agreed to an “unlimited” suspension of its nuclear program.

Bitcoin jumped above $78,000 on the news. Oil markets moved the other way, with Brent crude falling nearly 10% to around $85 per barrel.

The breakout triggered one of the biggest short squeezes of 2026. Data from CoinGlass shows $762 million in total liquidations across 168,336 traders. Short positions made up $593 million of that, with bitcoin shorts alone accounting for $381 million.

Funding rates on bitcoin perpetuals had been negative for weeks, meaning shorts were paying a premium to hold their positions. The Hormuz headline was the spark that flipped that setup.
