The broader cryptocurrency market is also experiencing gains, with several altcoins seeing positive movement.
Industry experts say that sellers are losing momentum on Bitcoin and that market indicators point toward a long bullish streak. The coin hit $74,8681 (BTC/USD) on Thursday and gained 0.58% from the previous day. Trade volume slowed from the previous session, but strong ETF inflows for the week show that Bitcoin is active and well supported.

Diminished selling trends show that realized losses are down to $400 million a day from their previous highs of $2 billion. Sellers are falling away and buyers are stepping in to take over, especially this week as the market recovered from several weeks of selling pressure brought on by the Iran conflict.

XRP’s recent price struggles is starting to look less like routine underperformance and more like capitulation as long-term holders who bought above $2 over the past year are now realizing millions in losses.

Data from Glassnode shows that this cohort has been realizing losses at roughly $20 million to $110 million a day amid the digital asset's 55% decline over the past six months to roughly $1.30.

This shift suggests that XRP's current selling pressure is driven by investors cutting risk on weakness rather than taking profits on strength.

The Bear Case: The Bottom Is Not Here Yet
CryptoQuant published analysis this week showing Bitcoin’s MVRV Z-score has not entered negative territory. Every single bear market bottom in Bitcoin’s history has required it to go below zero. Right now it sits at 0.5.

Analyst Benjamin Cowen put out a realistic bear framework on April 12 pointing to a 70% correction from the $126,000 October peak – implying a potential floor around $37,000-$38,000. CryptoQuant’s own target: $55,000-$60,000 by December 2026, followed by a two-year accumulation phase before the next halving cycle.

Their argument is simple. The bear market has not finished its job yet.

The Bull Case: The Debt Math Changes Everything
Analyst Michaël van de Poppe published a different framework today.

His sigma analysis of every Bitcoin cycle shows bull markets and bear markets are getting weaker symmetrically. The 2024/2025 bull peaked at just +1.5 sigma. The bear has already hit -1.5 sigma – the proportional level that historically marks the end of the correction.

“The sigma-debt has already been paid off in the recent correction,” he wrote. The $30,000 thesis, he argues, applies the wrong historical framework to a cycle that has already structurally changed.

Wall Street’s biggest bank wants to make money off Bitcoin — without actually owning any.

Goldman Sachs: A Different Kind Of Bitcoin Play
Goldman Sachs has filed paperwork with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a Bitcoin Premium Income ETF, a fund designed to give investors Bitcoin exposure while generating regular income through options trading.

The bank plans to put at least 80% of the fund’s assets into products tied to Bitcoin’s price — including shares of existing spot Bitcoin ETFs and options on those funds — rather than buying Bitcoin outright.

To produce income, Goldman intends to sell call options on Bitcoin ETF holdings at a premium. That strategy lets the fund collect fees from options buyers. The tradeoff is a cap on how much upside investors can capture if Bitcoin’s price shoots higher.

The Second Bank To Make A Move
Goldman’s filing comes on the heels of a similar push from Morgan Stanley, which launched its own spot Bitcoin ETF last week — making it the first bank-issued Bitcoin ETF on record.

Goldman Sachs is now the second major bank to enter this space, though its product takes a different approach. Morgan Stanley went the direct route with a spot fund. Goldman is building around options and indirect exposure.

The filing landed as Bitcoin was already making a move. The leading cryptocurrency climbed as high as $76,000 on the day Goldman’s registration statement was submitted to the SEC, before pulling back to around $75,000.
