Will AI shift deepen among Bitcoin miners?



According to the research firm, ‘ComputeFi’ has solved the speculative nature of the ‘minerFi’ problem. 

In the latest cycle, BTC and crypto have gone mainstream. In fact, most banks and asset managers now allow investors to borrow against their crypto holdings. However, the overall profitability has

strained the sustainability of BTC mining. 

Apart from the 2024 halving of block rewards, BTC’s pullback has dragged daily miner revenue from over $50M in 2025 to below $40M in 2026. 

In such a distressed environment, even capable and active miners wishing to pivot to AI strictly using their BTC revenues may face a challenge.   

On the contrary, CoreWeave made $5.13 billion in revenue in 2025 – Marking a 168% annual growth. For MARA, which has partially shifted to AI, the generated revenue hit $907 million, hinting at a 38% surge. However, it also suffered a 1.3 billion loss on its BTC holdings during the crypto winter. 

Given the declining miner revenue, the ongoing shift to AI among public miners may not ease anytime soon.

The verdict, delivered in Cook County circuit court, marks another significant development in the growing wave of litigation surrounding cow's milk-based formulas designed for preterm newborns. The four consolidated lawsuits center on necrotizing enterocolitis, or NEC - a severe intestinal disease that predominantly affects premature babies and carries a mortality rate exceeding 20%. The affected children, born in Chicago-area hospitals between 2012 and 2019, all survived NEC but continue to experience lasting health complications, with three having undergone surgery. The jury was set to reconvene to deliberate on additional punitive damages.Abbott, the maker of Similac, has consistently denied that its specialized hospital-grade formula causes NEC, arguing the product is critical for premature infants when mothers cannot produce sufficient breast milk. A 2024 joint report from U.S. regulatory agencies and a National Institutes of Health working group concluded that available evidence points to the absence of breast milk - rather than formula exposure itself - as the factor linked to higher NEC incidence. Bitcoin saw a fresh attempt to hit new local highs on the back of lower-than-expected US CPI data, despite a giant gas-price increase.Bitcoin (BTC) tagged $73,000 following Friday’s Wall Street open as crucial US inflation numbers came in below expectations.

BTC price seeks new local highs after CPI

Data from TradingView showed BTC price eyeing new multi-week highs as markets digested the March print of the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

This was the week’s key macro data release, and the first CPI report to reflect the impact of the US and Israel war in Iran.

Gasoline prices jumped over 21% month-on-month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) confirmed, but overall CPI finished 0.1% lower than markets’ expectations.

“Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 3.3 percent before seasonal adjustment,” an official news release read. 

“The index for energy rose 10.9 percent in March, led by a 21.2-percent increase in the index for gasoline which accounted for nearly three quarters of the monthly all items increase.”

Reacting, trading resource The Kobeissi Letter noted that the gas-price CPI jump was the largest monthly gain since 1967. The energy increase, it added in a further post on X, was the largest since 2005.

With the resulting mixed picture of inflationary forces, US stocks were mostly flat at the open, while BTC price action also avoided major moves up or down.

Bitwise Asset Management has taken another step in its effort to launch a spot Hyperliquid exchange-traded fund in the United States.  Summary Bitwise added a ticker and fee to its Hyperliquid ETF filing with the SEC. Eric Balchunas said the latest filing details suggest the fund could launch soon. Hyperliquid posted strong token gains and rising derivatives volume during the first quarter. The firm filed a second amendment with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, adding new details to its proposed product as competition in the category continues to grow. The updated filing included the ticker BHYP and a management fee of 0.67%. Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas said those additions often suggest a product may be getting closer to market, while other issuers continue to pursue similar funds tied to Hyperliquid. If approved, the Bitwise product will trade on NYSE Arca and aim to track the spot price of Hyperliquid. The filing marks the latest move in Bitwise’s push to bring a fund linked to the crypto perpetual futures protocol and blockchain to the US market. An extremely consequential diplomatic meeting is hours away.

Iran’s 71-person team, led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, arrived in Pakistan’s capital this morning for direct negotiations with US Vice President JD Vance, special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

It is the first face-to-face meeting between the two nations since the war began on February 28. Bitcoin is currently trading at $72,798, up 8.62% on the week.

That framing matters. Trump is not treating Hormuz as the primary obstacle. He is treating it as an economic inevitability. If nuclear is genuinely 99% of the deal, the bar for an agreement that moves markets is lower than most traders currently assume.
