US President Trump posted on social media: "Spent an extremely successful day in Alaska! The meeting with Russian President Putin went very smoothly, and late night phone calls with Ukrainian President Zelensky and many European leaders, including the respected NATO Secretary General, were also very smooth. Everyone believes that the best way to end the terrible war between Russia and Ukraine is to directly reach a peace agreement to completely end the war, rather than just a ceasefire agreement, as ceasefire agreements are often difficult to sustain. President Zelensky will travel to Washington, D.C. on Monday afternoon to visit the Oval Office. If all goes well, we will then arrange a meeting with President Putin. This could potentially save the lives of millions of people."
