US President Donald Trump's family trust executed hundreds of millions of dollars in financial transactions during the first quarter of 2026, including the acquisition of stocks directly tied to the digital asset industry, even as his administration pushed sweeping, pro-cryptocurrency regulatory overhauls.

According to a mandatory 278-T financial disclosure form released on May 14 by the US Office of Government Ethics, the president's portfolio underwent more than 3,600 transactions between January and March.

Bitcoin keeps rallying mid-month – Is Saylor using Strategy’s STRC funding loop to pump BTC?

STRC is helping Michael Saylor’s firm keep buying Bitcoin, but the preferred-stock loop is adding dividend costs that could weigh on shareholders.

Bitcoin has been seeing recurring mid-month strength this year, and it is becoming harder to separate it from Strategy’s (formerly MicroStrategy) expanding preferred-stock machine. The funding channel is helping the company continue to buy the flagship digital asset while adding a growing layer of cost to its balance sheet.

Research firm K33 has tied the pattern to Strategy’s perpetual preferred stock, STRC, which has become a key source of liquidity for the world’s largest corporate Bitcoin holder. The instrument pays dividends at month-end, but investors must own the shares by the 15th to qualify for the payout.

That deadline has turned the middle of each month into a predictable window of demand. Investors buy STRC ahead of the cutoff, driving up its trading volume, and the stock moves back toward its $100 par value.
Once STRC trades at or above par, Strategy can issue new shares through its at-the-market program and use the proceeds to buy more Bitcoin.

Data from STRC.live shows that this loop has become active this week, with STRC returning to par and giving Strategy enough room to fund the purchase of more than 5,000 Bitcoin before Friday’s next ex-dividend deadline.

The move extends a pattern that has made Strategy’s capital markets activity a recurring feature of Bitcoin’s spot-market flow. It also reinforces why STRC has become the most dominant preferred equity in the market.

XRP has gradually shifted into a stronger recovery structure after reclaiming important support zones earlier in May. The market continues forming higher lows on lower timeframes, suggesting buyers remain active during pullbacks.

Recent consolidation near the $1.45–$1.50 region reflects a compression phase where volatility has started tightening. Historically, this type of structure often leads to stronger directional movement once breakout momentum appears.

Selling pressure has also weakened compared to previous corrections, while dip-buying activity continues supporting the market above key levels.

In the medium term, XRP remains inside a broader stabilization and recovery phase after significant correction pressure earlier in 2026. The breakout above $1.40 improved overall market structure and shifted short-term sentiment back toward cautious optimism.

Momentum currently remains neutral-to-bullish while XRP holds above support zones, although stronger continuation above resistance is still required before a larger breakout trend becomes fully confirmed.

Crypto analyst Bee has forecasted a major price bottom for Bitcoin (BTC), the world’s largest digital currency. Despite its recent rally above $80,000, the expert still believes that BTC remains in a broader bearish market, likely viewing the latest price gains as a temporary bounce. While some analysts think that Bitcoin’s downtrend is over and others project a bottom around the $50,000 range, Bee expects BTC’s price to decline even lower before a sustained rally can begin.

Bitcoin Price Set To Bottom Around $42,000
In an X post on May 11, Bee said that Bitcoin is just one leg away from reaching its historical cycle bottom. The market expert shared a video chart analysis highlighting technical patterns and historical trends to support their bearish Bitcoin price outlook.

The analyst’s chart shows that Bitcoin has been forming multiple ascending channels within a broader descending channel since reaching a cycle peak above $126,200 in October 2025. After recording this all-time high, Btc crashed to $82,167, forming a lower low, where the first ascending channel began. Within this channel, the cryptocurrency traded sideways for months before rallying again to touch the upper boundary of the pattern at around $97,855.

After that lower high was reached, BTC began crashing again, but this time, the decline was even sharper and more severe. The cryptocurrency had fallen to $59,900 around February 2026, forming a lower low that many analysts still consider BTC’s final cycle bottom.

THORChain hit by over $10M exploit as protocol halts trading

The cross-chain DeFi protocol THORChain has been struck by a suspected exploit exceeding $10 million, forcing the network to temporarily pause trading as security teams investigate the incident.

According to blockchain security researchers, the attack appears to have impacted multiple networks including Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, and Base, with estimated losses ranging above $10M. Early on-chain analysis suggests suspicious wallet activity consistent with a coordinated exploit rather than a simple market incident.

Following the alert, THORChain validators moved quickly to halt trading to prevent further damage while teams assess the scope of the breach. Investigators are currently tracking the flow of funds across cross-chain routes to determine how the exploit was executed and whether additional vulnerabilities exist.

The incident has already triggered volatility in the protocol’s ecosystem, with the native token falling sharply as market participants react to the news. Security firms continue to monitor the situation as more details are expected to emerge in the coming hours.
