Optimism [OP] climbed 11.14% to $0.1656 after trading volume surged 88.31% to $233.1M, reflecting a sharp increase in speculative participation around OP. 

The rally emerged as buyers returned aggressively following weeks of compressed price action near the $0.12 region. 

Trading activity accelerated rapidly during the breakout phase, while bullish sentiment strengthened across both spot and derivatives markets. 

However, OP still traded below its recent local high near $0.1718, showing that sellers continued defending higher resistance levels despite the strong recovery. 

The latest expansion also aligned with improving market structure across the broader altcoin sector, which supported stronger risk appetite around high-beta assets like Optimism.

Trader Eugene Ng Ah Sio, known for his noteworthy assessments of the cryptocurrency market, stated that many charts are approaching bottom formation and that a strong upward movement could begin in the coming days. According to Eugene, the fact that Bitcoin is trading at critical levels and altcoins are still consolidating could signal a new uptrend.

Eugene, posting on his own social media channel, stated that Bitcoin is currently fluctuating around $80,000, adding, “The market could start a big move in the next week. I hope it will be upward.” The experienced trader also argued that many altcoins appear ready to break out of their current trading ranges.

Eugene noted that the trading volume and open interest (OI) data in the market were also noteworthy. According to him, at current levels, a smaller amount of new purchases compared to previous periods might be sufficient to push cryptocurrency prices higher. This, he stated, indicates that investors may still be underpositioned in many assets.

According to the analyst, the key element the market needs is for Bitcoin to decisively and strongly break above the $80,000 level. Eugene said that following this breakout, major altcoins, primarily Ethereum, Solana, and HYPE, could take the lead and initiate a new uptrend. However, the trader added that prices should not experience renewed downward pressure.

20 EMA at $0.313, the 50 EMA at $0.287, the
100 EMA at $0.305, and the 200 EMA at $0.403 in a single session, closing above all four for the first time since the downtrend started.
The Bollinger upper band at $0.402 was also breached, a volatility expansion signal that typically follows prolonged compression.
Today's pullback to $0.417 is sitting right on that level, which now acts as the first line of support.

On the 4-hour chart, Bitcoin remains trapped within a tight consolidation range bounded by the ascending dynamic trendline from below and the static $80K-$83K resistance zone overhead. This structure reflects a temporary equilibrium between buyers and sellers following the recent impulsive rally.

As long as the price remains confined within this range, further sideways consolidation is likely. However, the ascending trendline near the $78K level currently acts as the key short-term support for buyers. A bearish rejection and breakdown below this trendline could trigger a corrective decline toward the lower order block regions around the $75K-$76K and potentially the $70K-$71K support area.
