According to Market Analyst Samson Mow, Strategy Selling Bitcoin Isn’t a Bad Thing—Here’s Why




Samson Mow made noteworthy statements regarding Strategy’s remarks that it could sell Bitcoin if necessary.

Mow argued that it was “not a bad thing” for a Bitcoin treasury company to sell $BTC when circumstances required it, saying the main goal should be to protect shareholders and provide flexibility to the company.

According to Mow, the “never sell Bitcoin” approach restricts companies’ room for maneuver. Describing public markets as a “battlefield,” Mow stated that a company sticking to only one strategy can create an advantage for short-positioning investors and arbitrageurs. He argued that Strategy’s ability to utilize different tools such as selling, hedging, or issuing new shares when necessary makes the company more resilient to market attacks.

Mow also recalled that his previously designed Bitcoin bond model included planned $BTC sales. He explained that after a five-year lock-in period, the issuer would sell $BTC, providing investors with a return on capital. Mow stated that Strategy’s STRC structure follows a similar logic, adding that both models reduce Bitcoin volatility while offering investors upside potential.

Bitcoin Surges to Three-Month High Above $82,000 as Iran Peace Talks and Record Negative Funding Converge

Bitcoin topped $82,000 as reports of a U.S.-Iran peace framework sent oil prices plunging and amplified short squeeze risk during the longest negative funding streak this decade.

Bitcoin climbed above $82,000 on Wednesday, reaching a fresh three-month high. The catalyst was reports of progress toward a U.S.-Iran framework agreement that sent oil prices tumbling and boosted risk sentiment across global markets.

The move pushed bitcoin to its strongest level since late January, when the asset last traded above $80,000 before entering a prolonged drawdown. WTI crude plunged more than 10% to $93 per barrel on the news, while the S&P 500 rose 0.85% to an all-time high of 7,366.

According to an Axios report, the White House believes it is nearing a one-page, 14-point memorandum of understanding with Iran to end hostilities. The framework would open a 30-day window for talks on the Strait of Hormuz, Iran’s nuclear program, and U.S. sanctions relief.

Since the start of the conflict, bitcoin has gained roughly 25%, compared to the S&P 500’s 8% rise and gold’s 11% decline over the same window, according to Decrypt. The price move also coincides with a historically extreme derivatives setup that has been building for months.

Research firm K33 says bitcoin’s 30-day average funding rate has now been negative for 67 consecutive days, surpassing the 63-day stretch from March to May 2020 and marking the longest such regime this decade. When funding rates are negative, traders holding short positions in perpetual swaps pay a fee to longs, a cost that compounds over time.

The failed attempt has revived memories of March 2022, when Bitcoin briefly reclaimed its 200‑day SMA only to reverse sharply and sink to roughly $20,000 by June, punishing traders who treated the breakout as confirmation that a new bull run had begun.

Key technical test echoes 2022 fake-out

Market participants treat the 200‑day line as a rough dividing line between long‑term bull and bear regimes. If Bitcoin can sustain closes above that band, it would reinforce the increasingly popular thesis that “the bear market ended when $BTC fell below $63,000 in February” and that the current phase is the early leg of a fresh bull cycle. But the inability to hold above the average on this attempt, combined with risk‑off action across majors, has some desks cautioning that the market may be setting up another “false breakout” akin to 2022
