Hyperliquid Strategies Announces Net Loss of $165 Million for the Nine Months Ending March 31, Despite Continued Growth in HYPE Token Holdings

Hyperliquid Strategies announced a net loss of $165.4 million for the nine months ending March 31, primarily due to a net unrealized loss of $64 million on its token holdings and acquisition-related costs.

Since its inception in December 2025, the company has invested $216 million to acquire approximately 7.3 million HYPE tokens.

According to its third-quarter earnings report filed Thursday, Nasdaq-listed HYPE token holding company Hyperliquid Strategies Inc. currently holds approximately 20 million tokens.

Hyperliquid Strategies, which went public last year through a merger with Sonnet BioTherapeutics, focuses on accumulating HYPE tokens and maximizing shareholder value through staking, yield optimization, and ecosystem engagement. “This quarter, we made significant progress, solidifying HSI’s position as the leading, efficient, and publicly traded platform for HYPE, as Hyperliquid continues to dominate the on-chain finance space,” said David Schamis, CEO of Hyperliquid Strategies, in a filing.

Schamis added, “We significantly expanded our HYPE token reserves, announced a validator partnership with Unit, and completed the disposal of the majority of our traditional biotech business—these milestones, coupled with rigorous capital deployment and increasing staking revenue, further strengthen HSI’s alignment with Hyperliquid’s deflationary mechanisms and ecosystem expansion.”

Bitcoin traded at $79,732 as of May 7, down 2% over 24 hours, after sharply rejecting a five-month high of $82,784 reached two sessions prior. This is not very bullish news for Bitcoin today.

The reversal pulled BTC back below the $80,000 psychological threshold, a level it has now failed to structurally hold across three separate tests in four months.

The analytical question is no longer whether Bitcoin can reach $80,000; it is whether the structural conditions exist to convert that level from a ceiling into a floor.

On-chain data, derivatives positioning, and technical indicators are currently aligned against that conversion, even as institutional investment flows remain elevated, a divergence that defines the fragility of the current setup.
