The crypto market wavered on Monday morning as investors embraced a risk-on sentiment amid hopes of a deal between the US and Iran. Bitcoin (BTC) price was held below $77,000, while the market capitalization of all tokens remained flat at $2.56 trillion.

Some tokens, however, continued their uptrend that started on Saturday. DeXe token jumped by over 24%, while Humanity Protocol (H), Venice Token (VVV), Morpho (MORPHO), and Ondo rose by over 5% in the last 24 hours.

Bitcoin and most altcoins rebounded on Saturday after President Trump announced that the US and Iran were working on a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Media reports suggest that the deal will see the US end its blockade against Iranian ports in exchange for Iran reopening the Strait.

The reports also suggest that the two countries will start a 60-day ceasefire, in which they will seek to find an agreement on its nuclear program. These reports, if confirmed, would be positive for the crypto market as they would lead to lower energy prices and inflationary pressures.

Indeed, data shows that the Brent and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) tumbled below $100 today. This sell-off started as soon as Trump made the announcement, with traders on platforms like Hyperliquid experiencing the most benefits.

Still, the crypto market action has been a bit muted because Trump is yet to announce the deal. He has also said that he will not be in a hurry to reach an agreement, raising concerns that things might go south. Besides, some of Trump’s closest allies, like Senator Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz, have all blasted the deal for empowering Iran.

Most importantly, Trump is known to change his mind based on the last person he talks to. As such, traders are likely waiting for him to announce the deal officially.

CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost reported on May 25 that Bitcoin’s apparent demand fell to roughly -147,000 $BTC. The reading is the most bearish since December 2025, signaling new issuance is outpacing structural absorption. Darkfost framed it as a setup where sharp demand drops with excessive pessimism have historically created opportunities for patient investors.

The demand drop is primarily retail-driven. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index sits at 28, deep in fear territory as retail capitulates. Alphractal reported the Whale vs Retail Delta printed its highest positive divergence since November 2024.

Ledn Predicts Massive Growth For Bitcoin Collateral Lending
The market for bitcoin-backed credit could undergo a major scale change in the coming years. According to a report shared by Ledn, this still marginal segment today could reach $1 trillion in the long term. A projection that comes as the crypto industry is still trying to move past the 2022 bankruptcies and the shock caused by Celsius, Voyager, or BlockFi.
Ledn estimates that the market for Bitcoin-backed loans could reach $1 trillion in the coming years.

A study reveals a large gap between investor interest in these products and their actual adoption.

Bitcoin is gradually establishing itself as financial collateral allowing liquidity without selling assets.

The bankruptcies of Celsius, Voyager, and BlockFi continue to fuel distrust in crypto credit.

The crypto lender Ledn estimates that the market for Bitcoin-backed loans could grow from $3 billion today to $1 trillion in the next ten years. This projection is based on a study conducted by Protocol Theory with 1,244 crypto holders in the United States and Australia between February and March.
The figures presented in the report show a major gap between theoretical interest and actual adoption in the sector :

The report compares this model to mechanisms already established in traditional finance, such as Lombard credit or mortgage loans. Indeed, the goal is to obtain liquidity without selling one’s cryptos.
