MicroStrategy, the world's largest publicly traded holder of Bitcoin, has announced another sale.
According to a statement from the company's founder, Michael Saylor, the company sold 1,690 bitcoins for approximately $108.6 million.
From August 3rd to August 9th, the company generated revenue of $108.6 million from sales executed at an average price of $64,262 per bitcoin.
MicroStrategy announced the sale of $BTC to fund dividends on preferred shares and the repurchase of MSTR stock.
In this context, the company also began August with sales, and the total number of bitcoins it owns has decreased to 840,447. Thus, MicroStrategy, which made no purchases in July, has not purchased $BTC for approximately 7 weeks, and this latest sale marks the fourth consecutive week of selling.
During the same period, the company also raised $653.1 million through the sale of MSTR shares. Of these funds, $109 million were used to repurchase MSTR stock.
According to MicroStrategy's statement, the company's dollar reserves also increased, reaching approximately $4.65 billion. This means the period for which dividends can be paid using dollar reserves has extended by 143 days, to 2.7 years.
"MicroStrategy increased its US dollar reserves by $650 million and repurchased $109 million worth of MSTR stock. This extended the life of the US dollar credit by 143 days, to 2.7 years, and reduced the amount of Bitcoin ($BTC) debt for MSTR by 10 basis points. As of August 9, 2026, our Bitcoin ($BTC) reserves hold 840,447 $BTC, while our US dollar reserves are $4.65 billion."
