SEC Has Issued a New Official Green Light for Cryptocurrencies
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has formally approved a rule change proposal submitted by the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) that aims to create a new trading mechanism for “tokenized securities.”
The proposal, outlined in document number 34-105260, is considered a critical step towards integrating traditional finance with blockchain technology.
According to the proposal, the NYSE plans to introduce a new regulation called “Rule 7.50,” allowing eligible securities to be traded in both traditional and blockchain-based “tokenized” forms. This structure will be implemented within the scope of the DTC pilot program under the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC).

A rare RSI signal is flashing
One of the key arguments comes from the weekly Relative Strength Index (RSI). Historically, Bitcoin has only seen the weekly RSI drop below 30 on three occasions — with the most recent occurring in Q1 2026.
What stands out this time is not just the oversold reading, but the recovery pattern. The RSI has rebounded strongly and broken above a long-term descending trendline, a structure that often signals a shift from bearish momentum to early bullish recovery phases.
Multiple bottom signals are aligning
Sykodelic also highlights that this isn’t an isolated indicator. According to his analysis, around 12 different long-term bottom signals have now aligned — a level of convergence rarely seen in previous cycles.
Supporting this view, on-chain and market data show strengthening fundamentals:
Bitcoin exchange reserves have fallen to a 7-year low, suggesting reduced selling pressure
Whale wallets have accumulated over $2 billion worth of Bitcoin in recent weeks
Spot Bitcoin ETFs have recorded strong inflows, including nearly $1 billion in April alone following positive momentum in March
These flows suggest that larger players may already be positioning for the next phase of the cycle.

Most cryptocurrency protocols are generating measurable revenue, yet few provide the level of transparency expected in traditional financial markets, according to new research from Novora.

The study, which reviewed more than 150 projects across sectors including decentralized exchanges, lending platforms, and blockchain infrastructure, found that 91% of protocols have traceable revenue. However, only a small fraction presents that data in a way that is accessible to investors.

Ethereum price approaches $2,400 as ETFs hit six-day inflows streak

Ethereum price climbed to an intraday high of $2,375 on Friday as Ethereum ETFs continued to draw steady institutional interest.

According to data from crypto.news, Ethereum ($ETH) price was trading at $2,375 last check on Friday, April 17. The largest altcoin in the market was up 1% over the past 24 hours and up over 7% in the past 7 days.

Ethereum price rallied as institutional investors continue to show steady demand for the token.

According to data from SoSoValue, the 10 U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $18 million in net inflows on April 16, led by BlackRock’s ETHA.

Notably, these institutional products experienced back-to-back inflows for the sixth straight trading day, drawing in nearly $300 million in the period.

Although the flows have been moderate in nature when compared to the beginning of the year, when these products drew in over $100 million a day, they suggest that institutional investors are starting to accumulate the asset with renewed confidence.

With reports suggesting that the U.S. and Iran could end their ongoing conflict soon, Ethereum ETFs could see a boon in investor sentiment as capital flows back into riskier assets.

Meanwhile, Ethereum treasury firm Bimine has also been aggressively building its holdings with its most recent purchase completed on Monday, April 13. At the moment, the firm holds roughly 4% of the total circulating supply, which brings it very close to its goal of owning at least 5%.

Chairman Tom Lee, in the meantime, has noted that Ethereum is very close to exiting its long crypto winter after it formed a solid bottom recently.

This has fueled bullish expectations across the broader market as whales continue to lock up supply for the long term.
