Ethereum ETFs lose $70.7M as BlackRock leads withdrawals - What's next for ET

Ethereum ETF outflows raised fresh concerns over institutional demand after U.S. spot ETFs recorded a $70.7 million net outflow on July 24.

BlackRock accounted for the largest share of that activity after investors withdrew $52.8 million from its $ETH fund.

The figures interrupted a period of sustained inflows and shifted attention toward whether large investors had started locking in profits.

However, one trading session rarely defines a broader trend, especially after weeks of consistent institutional accumulation.

Instead, the latest withdrawal suggested that some investors had adopted a more cautious stance near key price resistance.

As a result, Ethereum faced greater scrutiny because sustained ETF outflows could reduce institutional demand and weaken bullish sentiment if similar withdrawals continued over the coming sessions.

Exchange inflows add another layer of caution

On-chain spot flow data also reflected a subtle shift after Ethereum recorded a $5.92 million net inflow into exchanges during the latest session.

Positive netflows generally indicate that more $ETH moved onto exchanges than left them, increasing the amount of readily tradable supply.

BitMart shuts down trading as BMX crashes more than 60%



HTX  Creation Challenge — Post and Win 1,500U 💥

BitMart has started a phased shutdown of its global cryptocurrency exchange after reviewing its operating conditions, market environment, and future strategy.

According to the official shutdown notice, the exchange stopped new registrations, cryptocurrency and fiat deposits, and new spot orders from 01:30 UTC on July 26. Futures accounts entered reduce-only mode, while copy trading, grid trading, API trading, and other automated services began winding down.

The exchange will end all spot, futures, and other trading services at 01:00 UTC on August 26. However, the full platform will not close on that date. BitMart plans to terminate trading-platform operations at 15:59 UTC on January 31, 2027. Users will retain limited account access for a period after that date to review records and submit withdrawals.

recently finished reading this 600-page book and it has been an eye opener on many levels, especially on weather, a space I last tracked at my gig on a currencies and commodities research desk in Mumbai from 2012 to 2014. Part of my job involved tracking natural gas prices, which take cues from weather forecasts and sometimes weather derivatives, more specifically options on heating degree days (HDD) and cooling degree days (CDD).

Back then, it struck me how broken, fragmented and little known these weather options were, leaving the bulk of the world's population exposed to the financial devastation of weather and climate risks (not to mention the physical risks).

Crypto Advocates Contact Congress 1 Million Times as CLARITY Act Pressure Builds Grassroots Network Renews Pressure on Congress

Stand With Crypto, a U.S. crypto advocacy organization that says it has around 3 million registered advocates, reiterated that supporters have contacted Congress nearly 1 million times as it renewed its campaign for passage of the CLARITY Act.

The group is highlighting the outreach to underscore sustained public engagement with digital asset policy as lawmakers face a narrowing legislative calendar. Its 2025 report said advocates sent more than 925,000 emails to Congress that year and more than 1.1 million since the organization's founding.

The CLARITY Act would create a federal regulatory framework for digital assets and clarify when the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) or Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) oversees a cryptocurrency or market intermediary. Its provisions could affect exchange registration, asset listings, customer disclosures, and enforcement involving fraud or manipulation.
