Japan’s services producer price index (SPPI) increased 3.2% year over year in June, highlighting persistent inflationary pressure that could strengthen expectations for additional interest rate hikes by the Bank of Japan (BOJ).According to data released by Japan’s central bank on Monday, the June reading followed a revised 3.4% annual increase in May. The SPPI measures the prices businesses charge one another for services and is closely monitored as an indicator of underlying inflation trends across the economy.The latest figures suggest that cost pressures remain widespread, even as the pace of annual growth eased slightly from the previous month. Rising service-sector prices are viewed as an important signal that inflation is becoming more entrenched, supporting the BOJ’s gradual shift toward tighter monetary policy after years of ultra-loose settings.Transportation costs remained a major driver of June’s increase. Prices for transportation services climbed 5.3% from a year earlier, reflecting higher fuel costs and ongoing supply chain disruptions linked to the conflict in the Middle East. However, in the last 24 hours, the memecoin market cap rose 8% to $23 billion, while trading volume rose 77% to $2.85 billion.

Amid this sector-wide trend reversal, MemeCore [M] also rebounded, successfully holding $1.1 and climbing to a local high of 1.329.

As of this writing, MemeCore was trading around $1.32, after rising by 11.2% on the daily charts. However, its trading volume dropped by 13%, suggesting that market participation is yet to

recover.

MemeCore demand recovers amid sector-wide capital rotation

As the sector-wide momentum shifted, M traders also rushed to position themselves, fearing they would miss out.

As a result, the memecoin's Open Interest climbed by 9.4% to $25.66 million. Such a jump in Ol suggested increased participation as traders opened new positions.

Meanwhile, the memecoin's Long/Short Ratio jumped above 1 across exchanges. The overall ratio was around 1.07 as of this writing, reflecting high demand for long positions.

This implies that traders mostly opened long positions, indicating bullishness as traders expected the market to continue rising

Metaplanet CEO Reveals The Core Logic of Strategy’s Bitcoin Accumulation Strategy Remains Unchanged! Here Are the Details

Simon Gerovich, CEO of Japan-based investment company Metaplanet, said that there has been no fundamental change in the structure or logic of Strategy’s (formerly MicroStrategy) long-standing Bitcoin buying strategy.

In his social media post, Gerovich emphasized that while market perception of Strategy’s approach has changed several times over the years, the company has consistently pursued the same strategy.

Gerovich recalled that Strategy’s Bitcoin journey began in August 2020, noting that at the time, a software company with a market capitalization of approximately $1 billion adding $250 million worth of Bitcoin to its balance sheet was seen by many as a one-off and unusual move. However, the fact that the company’s shares subsequently increased in value by approximately tenfold led to this decision being considered a “visionary” investment strategy in the markets.

However, the sharp declines in the Bitcoin market caused Strategy shares to lose approximately 90% of their value, leading to the strategy being described as a failed experiment. According to Gerovich, while market perception has changed significantly over time, the company’s core approach has never changed
