The crypto market on May 5 saw Bitcoin push back above $81,000 and large-caps catch a synchronised bid, while the high-beta altcoin board reset leadership again. Utya topped CoinGecko’s 24-hour gainer list with a 99.4% rally to $0.04145, while Dogs jumped 78.4%, LAB advanced 62.9%, Small Thing rose 43.4%, and wojak gained 38.4%.

The leadership shift is the consistent pattern of the past week. AIOT and SkyAI led on May 3-4, TAGGER topped the May 2 board at +88.1% and now sits in the loser column at -13.7%, and a fresh wave of meme-and-microcap names is doing the running today.CoinGecko data showed the global crypto market cap at $2.77 trillion, up 2.6% over 24 hours, with total trading volume near $104 billion. Bitcoin dominance was 58.8%, and Ethereum dominance was 10.4%.

Bernstein cites $4T tokenized credit opportunity for Figure Technology stock

Shares of Figure Technology Solutions have risen nearly 10% over the past month, but the stock still appears undervalued as the company pivots beyond its roots as a fintech lender, according to Bernstein.

In a Tuesday research note, the firm reiterated its “Outperform” rating on Figure (FIGR), with a $67 price target, implying roughly 67% upside from current levels, and maintained its previous outlook.

Bernstein’s thesis centers on Figure’s transition from a home equity line of credit (HELOC) originator into a broader platform spanning blockchain infrastructure and AI-driven credit markets.

A key part of that shift is tokenization — in this case, converting loans into tradable onchain assets that can settle in real time. Bernstein estimates the addressable market for tokenized credit at around $4 trillion, positioning Figure to tap into a significantly larger opportunity than traditional HELOC lending.

The note also pointed to strong momentum. Loan volumes reached $1.34 billion in April, up 108% year over year and marking the second consecutive month above $1 billion. Bernstein expects that growth to continue, projecting total loan volumes to climb to $16.5 billion by 2027 from $8.4 billion in 2025

After initially breaking through the upper trendline of the bear flag, the price did dip back inside the flag, but as can be seen, the price is in a small ascending channel, and it was the bottom of this channel that held as support.

The price did emerge from the flag again, and now it can be observed that after getting rejected from the $80,600 horizontal resistance, a new 4-hour candle has opened above. The price has just rejected from the top of the channel, so it now remains to be seen whether the price can hold onto this major level and flip it into support.

So far so good for the bullsThe daily chart gives us an even clearer view of this breakout. While the picture on Monday morning looked to be portraying a possible fakeout, the $BTC price was just about able to stay above the upper trendline of the bear flag, and now on Tuesday there is a firm green candle standing above the flag. There is still the rest of the day to go, but things are looking good so far for the bulls.

It can be seen in the chart that while the 50-day SMA and 100-day SMA have had a bullish cross up, the 200-day SMA is soon to become another strong barrier for the bulls to overcome.

It also needs to be taken into account, that if the price should get there, the $84,600 horizontal resistance level is also the area where a CME futures gap can be closed.

Sequans said it sold 1,025 bitcoin, reducing holdings from 2,139 BTC to 1,114 BTC as of April 30.

The company linked bitcoin sales to convertible debt redemptions and ADS buybacks, while reporting revenue of $6.1 million, down 24.8% year-on-year.
Paris-based Sequans Communications trimmed its bitcoin (BTC) holdings by nearly half during the first quarter, selling 1,025 BTC to finance convertible debt redemptions and an ADS buyback program.

The transaction reduced the firm’s total digital asset reserves from 2,139 BTC at the end of 2025 to 1,114 BTC by the close of April, it said in a statement on Tuesday. Of the remaining bitcoin position, 817 BTC, representing over 70% of its current holdings, is pledged as collateral for $35.9 million in outstanding convertible notes.

The sales occurred alongside a 24.8% year-on-year decline in total revenue, which fell to $6.1 million in the first quarter of 2026.

According to the statement, Sequans reported an operating loss of $50.5 million for the quarter, compared to a loss of $6.8 million in the first quarter of 2025. This figure included $29.3 million in unrealized impairment losses on its bitcoin investment and $11.7 million in realized net losses from digital asset sales.

The latest sale follows earlier disposals after Sequans began accumulating bitcoin in July 2025, when CEO Georges Karam announced a plan to amass 3,000 BTC in "weeks," framing the initiative as a "long-term store of value for our shareholders."

Four months later, in November, Sequans sold approximately 970 BTC, cutting its holdings from 3,234 BTC to 2,264 BTC to redeem $94.5 million of convertible debt.
