XRP Posts Second-Highest RWA Inflow in Six Months, Adds $2.6B

The $XRP Ledger has recorded the second-highest inflow of real-world assets over the past six months, as total value exceeds $4 billion.

$XRP continues to expand its presence in the tokenized real-world asset (RWA) market as tokenization gains more traction this year.

According to data from RWA.xyz, a leading platform that tracks tokenized RWA activity, the network attracted $2.6 billion in new RWA value over the past six months, excluding stablecoins.

This gives the $XRP Ledger the second-largest RWA inflow among all blockchain networks during the period. Only $BNB Chain recorded a higher figure, bringing in $3 billion over the same six months. Essentially, the XRPL has become one of the fastest-growing networks for tokenized real-world assets.

The new rules have sparked a debate about whether or not they will solve the company’s capital-structure problems or simply delay them.

How does Strategy’s new capital framework operate?
Strategy (Nasdaq: MSTR) recently disclosed a new “Digital Credit Capital Framework” in a 8-K regulatory filing.

Cryptopolitan reported that the framework grants the company formal permission to sell up to $1.25 billion worth of Bitcoin. Notably, the firm is facing a massive unrealized loss of roughly $14 billion on its holdings of 847,363 $BTC.

The framework creates a formal USD reserve policy that introduces revised dividend terms for its STRC preferred shares, and authorizes separate repurchase programs for both preferred stock and MSTR common shares at $1 billion each.

The board has kept aside the company’s $2.55 billion cash reserve, restricting its use to preferred dividends and debt interest.

If the current spending rates of roughly $1.76 billion annually are retained, this reserve is expected to last for about 17 months. If the full authorized sale of Bitcoin were to be executed, total liquidity would stretch to approximately $3.8 billion, an amount that would cover about 26 months of obligations.

Alex Thorn of Galaxy Research pointed out that the core of the debate is whether these new rules actually solve Strategy’s capital-structure issues or simply delay them.

Chinese courts have sentenced five Sifang payment platform operators to between three and six years in prison over a gambling network that processed more than 2.95 billion yuan, or about $428 million, through $USDT, bank cards and third-party payment accounts.

The Paper reported that the Intermediate People's Court of Xilin Gol League in Inner Mongolia upheld Ma's conviction for illegal business operations on June 26, leaving his four-and-a-half-year prison term and 3 million yuan fine in place.

Ma's case was the last judgment in a group of prosecutions linked to Sifang, a fourth-party payment operation that supplied payment channels to online gambling businesses. The court also ordered authorities to recover 2.95 million yuan in illegal income from Ma.

Court records cited by The Paper showed that Ma and four other defendants processed illegal payments between May 24, 2022, and Oct. 18, 2023. The operation moved funds through 105 merchant accounts connected to 10 third-party payment companies.

Some defendants received commissions or rebates through $USDT wallets, while other payments went through bank cards, according to the records. Prosecutors treated their work as unlicensed payment settlement activity and charged them with illegal business operations.

Zhu received a five-year prison term and an 800,000 yuan fine, while Zhang was sentenced to six years and fined 850,000 yuan. The other defendants received terms ranging from three to six years, The Paper reported.
