Shiba Inu's momentum finally lost some steam after one of the strongest rallies among large-cap memecoins.

In fact, $SHIB fell by almost 11% in the last 24 hours as traders took some profit off the table after the breakout earlier this week. This move came after $SHIB briefly took the mantle as leader of the recent memecoin rotation, drawing in new speculative money.

Shiba Inu's explosive move over the last 3 days left behind a big unfilled gap. The latest correction has brought the old technical zone back into play.

At the time of writing, $SHIB's price action was moving towards the imbalance zone between $0.0000042 and $0.00000485. This is a key zone zone that could trigger buyers to add more positions as they aim to maximize on the prevailing bullish trend.

Especially given that the memecoin has been trading above both its 20-day and 50-day EMAs on the daily chart.

Metaplanet's Siiibo Deal Lays Groundwork for Bitcoin Bond Market, Says Benchmark

Benchmark says Metaplanet's ¥2.1B ($13M) acquisition of Siiibo Securities is the foundation for a Bitcoin-backed "Bitbonds" market in Japan, not just a minor brokerage purchase.
Investment firm Benchmark says the market has underestimated what Metaplanet's acquisition of Japanese brokerage Siiibo Securities actually means for the company. Benchmark analyst Mark Palmer made that argument after meeting with Dylan LeClair, Metaplanet's Director of Bitcoin Strategy. Palmer wrote that most observers read the 2.1 billion yen (roughly $13 million) deal as a routine, small-scale addition to the business. He said that reading misses the company's broader goal.

The acquisition gave Metaplanet a Type-1 Financial Instrument Business Operator license. That license allows the holder to structure and distribute securities in Japan. LeClair told Benchmark that obtaining the same license through a standard application typically takes several months or more. Buying Siiibo gave Metaplanet that regulatory standing without the wait.
Metaplanet's plan for the brokerage has nothing to do with raising money for its own Bitcoin (BTC) purchases. LeClair said the goal is to turn Metaplanet Securities into an open platform, which other companies pursuing a Bitcoin treasury strategy would use to issue debt and fund their own BTC holdings. Metaplanet is calling these instruments "Bitbonds." The bonds are designed to carry yields of roughly 4% to 6%. The company plans to eventually settle them on-chain using stablecoins. A secondary market for the bonds would follow over the coming years.

Palmer connected this plan to Metaplanet's "Project Nova" roadmap. That roadmap lays out a strategy to grow the company beyond simply holding BTC on its balance sheet.

The chart above paints a clear and painful picture. $BTC had maintained $64,000 over the weekend before it jumped to a multi-day peak of $65,600 on Monday. It tried to take down that resistance twice, but it was stopped each time.

The second rejection was quite violent as it drove the asset south by nearly $3,000 in hours. Thus, $BTC plummeted to $63,000 for the first time since July 17.

Popular analyst CRYPTOWZRD weighed in on the latest move south, indicating that the largest digital asset had closed bearish. They believe it’s essential for $BTC to remain above the currently tested support at $63,000; otherwise, it could slump to new local lows.

$ETH was yesterday’s top gainer, surging to a two-month peak of $1,980. However, it has lost $100 since then and now sits well below $1,900. XRP has dumped by 4.5% to $1.06, thus slipping below the coveted $1.10 support. SOL is down by a similar percentage, while HYPE has plummeted by 6%.

Expectedly, this big market move has harmed over-leveraged traders, as more than 165,000 such participants have been wrecked in the past 24 hours. The total value of liquidated positions has risen to almost $700 million on a daily scale. Naturally, $BTC and $ETH lead the pack.
