The electricity demand driven by the expansion of AI data centers is boosting Bloom Energy's performance and stock price. Although the stock has fallen significantly from its June high, it is still up approximately 135% year-to-date. Market focus is on whether its on-site power supply equipment can continue to meet data center orders.

Second Quarter Revenue Hits Record High

Bloom Energy manufactures solid oxide fuel cell systems, focusing on direct on-site power supply, reducing waiting time for grid connection. This type of solution is becoming increasingly attractive to hyperscale cloud service providers and AI companies eager to deploy new computing power.

The company's second-quarter results show that this demand has begun to translate into revenue. Its revenue for the quarter increased by 166% year-over-year to $1.07 billion; product revenue increased by 215% year-over-year. During the same period, the company achieved an operating profit of $182.2 million and raised its 2026 revenue forecast to $3.9 billion to $4.2 billion.

Management also stated that Bloom's systems have received approval from major US hyperscale cloud vendors and are also available to more than ten new cloud service providers, AI labs, and third-party data center customers. 


New Partnerships Announced in August

Since August, Bloom has announced a series of advancements related to AI infrastructure. On August 13th, Nebius, backed by Nvidia, announced that it had selected Bloom's technology to provide off-meter power for its planned 300-megawatt AI data center in New Jersey.

Subsequently, Bloom expanded its partnership with MiTAC in August. The company stated that it now has nearly two dozen AI infrastructure customers, with a total capacity of approximately 250 megawatts.
