The development of a sustained cycle depends on a few key factors.



The market is currently exhibiting a textbook rotation phase.

On the technical side, Bitcoin dominance (BTC.D) has logged four straight days of downside pressure after its early May breakout to 61.2%. At the same time, the Altcoin Season Index has jumped by more than 10 points in less than 24 hours, reinforcing a classic BTC-to-altcoin rotation setup.

Historically, however, altcoin rallies rarely sustain momentum unless Ethereum [ETH], the largest altcoin, starts gaining strength against Bitcoin [BTC], allowing deeper capital to flow across the broader altcoin market.

As the chart below shows, the ETH/BTC ratio has rebounded around 0.7% after four consecutive weeks of decline. This could be an early sign that rotation might be expanding beyond Bitcoin.

Goldman Sachs Sees Fed on Hold Longer, Pencils In December Rate Cut

Goldman Sachs delays Fed rate cut forecast to December 2026 and March 2027.

Energy passthrough may keep core PCE inflation near 3%, above the Fed's 2% target.

CME FedWatch shows 93.4% odds of a Fed hold at the June meeting.

Goldman Sachs has pushed back its forecast for the next two Federal Reserve rate cuts to December 2026 and March 2027.

The revision comes as the bank expects inflation in 2026 to be higher than the Fed’s 2% target.

Goldman’s report highlighted that energy cost pass-through will likely keep core Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) inflation near 3% throughout 2026. Previously, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) also projected that core PCE would return to 2% only in early 2027.

Meanwhile, Goldman’s US economists argued cooler monthly readings and weaker labor data must arrive first for the rate cuts.

The Federal Open Market Committee held the federal funds rate at 3.50% to 3.75% on April 29, reporting stable economic conditions across most districts. That meeting drew four dissents, the most since 1992.

Also, Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s Lindsay Rosner previously said hawks could gain ground at the June FOMC meeting.
“The FOMC could well feel compelled to remove the easing bias from its next post-meeting statement in June, which would suggest the hawks are gaining the upper hand on the committee,” Rosner noted.

Crypto Price Prediction for Today, May 10: XRP, Uniswap (UNI), Sei (SEI)The crypto market inched up a little on the morning of May 10, 2026. The total market cap rose just 0.14% to $2.69 trillion as traders moved money between big coins and smaller ones. Some coins kept climbing over the weekend, but others stalled out when they hit resistance.

The XRP price slipped almost 1% during the past 24 hours after failing to extend above a key resistance region. Uniswap price moved in the opposite direction and remains one of the strongest performers in the market today with gains above 5%. SEI price also stayed positive, adding close to 2% as buyers defended the latest breakout move.

A closer look at the charts shows three very different setups developing across XRP price, UNI price, and SEI price today.

Ripple’s XRP Price Struggles Below $1.42 Resistance

XRP traded near $1.41 at writing after another failed attempt to reclaim the upper resistance zone near $1.43. We had a look at the chart and the structure still shows the market moving sideways after the strong rally recorded in mid-April.

The latest candles also show reduced volatility compared to previous sessions. Buyers defended the $1.38 region twice during the past week, though the XRP price has not managed to produce enough strength for a clean breakout above recent highs. That leaves the market trapped inside a narrow short-term range.

Experienced Analyst Identifies Two Resistance Levels for Bitcoin – “A Similar Pattern Has Been Seen Three Times Before in History”
Crypto analyst Michaël van de Poppe made some interesting points in his latest report evaluating the Bitcoin price.Crypto analyst Michaël van de Poppe, in his assessment of Bitcoin’s current market structure, highlighted two critical resistance zones that investors should watch.

According to Van de Poppe, the key levels for Bitcoin in the short term are the $86,000–$88,000 range and the $93,000–$95,000 range where the 50-week moving average is located.

The analyst noted that the first major upward movements in bull cycles often encounter strong resistance around previous support levels or the 50-week moving average. Van de Poppe stated that a similar pattern was observed in the 2017, 2021, and 2024 cycles.According to Van de Poppe, Bitcoin could consolidate by moving sideways in these resistance zones for a few weeks. The analyst argued that this process could pave the way for new upward movements in the altcoin market.

However, the analyst also predicted that Bitcoin could experience a pullback towards the $70,000-$75,000 range after consolidation in resistance zones. Despite this, Van de Poppe stated that he believes current levels represent the bottom of a long-term bear market and that the overall market outlook is once again bullish.

The rotation into risk assets is unfolding at uneven momentum across markets.

In crypto, Bitcoin [BTC] has rallied 17% in Q2. However, the price structure still reflects consolidation rather than expansion.

From a technical view, BTC remains 35% below its $126k peak, with persistent resistance in the $80k-$85k range preventing a transition into price discovery despite improving broader risk sentiment.

In contrast, U.S. equities are demonstrating stronger capital absorption. From a technical standpoint, the NASDAQ index has gained over 22% so far in Q2, while the S&P 500 reached a record high of 7,400 on the 8th of May.

Chainalysis revealed on April 12 that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps controls approximately 50% of the country’s crypto ecosystem. Any funds flowing toward IRGC-linked wallets risk violating US sanctions administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
