German Banking Giant Deutsche Bank Announces Increased Cryptocurrency Adoption Rate in the US! Here Are the Details



An investor survey published by German banking giant Deutsche Bank revealed a renewed increase in cryptocurrency adoption in the US. After hitting a low of 7% in February, the adoption rate rose to 12% in March, returning to levels projected for July 2025.

The report highlighted the recovery in institutional demand as a notable factor. It noted a net inflow of approximately $1.3 billion into spot Bitcoin ETFs in March, which was described as a significant factor supporting market confidence. Despite this, individual investors appeared to maintain a cautious stance regarding price expectations.

According to the survey, 19% of US participants predict that the price of Bitcoin will be between $20,000 and $60,000 by the end of 2026. Thirteen percent believe the price could fall below $20,000, while only about 3% anticipate Bitcoin reaching its peak levels above $120,000 again.

The data also revealed that Bitcoin maintains its clear leading position among crypto investors. Approximately 70% of investors hold Bitcoin in their portfolios, significantly higher than stablecoins like Tether and USD Coin.

On the other hand, while 69% of participants stated they preferred Bitcoin for future investments, gold and the S&P 500 index still hold stronger positions in overall investment preferences. The research also revealed that crypto adoption is still predominantly concentrated among men and high-income groups, but women and lower-income investors are increasingly participating in the market.

OCBC, one of Singapore’s largest banking and financial services corporations, has launched a tokenized physical gold fund, with the underlying token, GOLDX, issued on both Ethereum and Solana.

Grinex hack blows a hole in Russia’s sanctions‑evading crypto lifeline


A suspected state‑linked $13m hack has shuttered sanctioned Russian crypto exchange Grinex, cutting a major ruble‑to‑crypto sanctions‑evasion channel.

A major Russian cryptocurrency exchange used to funnel money around Western sanctions has shut down after a suspected large‑scale cyberattack that wiped out more than $13 million and severed a critical financial channel for the country’s shadow economy.

According to DL News, Grinex reported losing over 1 billion rubles, or roughly $13 million, in a hack that targeted its core wallet infrastructure, prompting it to halt trading and withdrawals before announcing it would cease operations entirely.

In a statement on its Telegram channel, the platform claimed the breach showed “signs of involvement from foreign intelligence agencies,” suggesting the tools and resources used were “beyond typical hackers” and part of “broader pressure on the Russian financial system.”

Sanctions hub taken offline

Grinex was created by former Garantex employees as a successor platform after U.S. authorities and allies sanctioned Garantex for processing more than $100 million in ransomware and other illicit flows, according to the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control.

OFAC described Grinex as “another cryptocurrency exchange created by Garantex employees to support the company’s sanctions evasion efforts,” and in August 2025 it sanctioned Grinex alongside A7A5, a ruble‑backed token that helped move Russian funds through Kyrgyz and other regional intermediaries.

Chainalysis, which has tracked the network, said the August 2025 designations were part of “a multi‑year effort to dismantle a sanctions‑evasion infrastructure” that laundered ransomware proceeds, darknet market revenues and other illicit transactions since at least 2019.

On the regulatory front, U.S. banking regulators—including the Federal Reserve, FDIC, and OCC—have withdrawn prior guidance that required banks to obtain approval before offering crypto custody, trading, or stablecoin services. This effectively lowers barriers for traditional financial institutions to integrate digital assets into their offerings, marking a major structural shift for the industry.
Adding to this momentum, Paul Atkins taking a leadership role at the SEC is seen as a signal of reduced regulatory uncertainty, potentially easing enforcement pressure and encouraging broader institutional participation.
Institutional accumulation is also accelerating. Strategy recently executed its largest April Bitcoin purchase, acquiring 15,355 BTC for approximately $1.42 billion. Meanwhile, Tether expanded its holdings by 8,888 BTC, bringing its total to over 92,000 BTC.
ETF demand remains strong as well. Bitcoin ETFs recorded over $3.2 billion in net inflows in April, with BlackRock’s IBIT alone attracting nearly $1.5 billion in a single week—its strongest performance of the year. Traditional finance is also deepening exposure, with Morgan Stanley launching a competitive Bitcoin ETF product.
Despite macro uncertainty from global trade tensions and tariff volatility, Bitcoin has remained resilient, trading around the mid-$76,000 range and holding within a defined $72K–$78K consolidation zone.
Sentiment remains cautiously optimistic, with a Fear & Greed Index around 33, indicating subdued retail emotion even as institutional demand strengthens.
Overall, the market is undergoing a liquidity reallocation phase. Regulatory easing combined with sustained institutional inflows is reshaping Bitcoin’s long-term positioning—from a speculative asset toward a more structurally integrated financial instrument.
