Summary Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has accused crypto exchange Zondacrypto of using “Russian funds linked to organized crime” and “Russian security services” to finance opposition politicians and block a MiCA‑style crypto bill. Tusk told parliament that some lawmakers fighting his government’s crypto‑asset legislation were “serving the interests” of Zondacrypto, which he said sponsored a CPAC event in Poland where former U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem endorsed nationalist Karol Nawrocki’s presidential bid. President Nawrocki, elected in June 2025 with backing from former U.S. President Donald Trump, has twice vetoed MiCA‑aligned regulation, leaving Polish exchanges in legal limbo and deepening a national‑security‑tinged standoff over how to police digital assets. Speaking in the Sejm on Friday ahead of a vote on overturning his rival’s veto, Tusk claimed that “Russian money was behind the Zondacrypto cryptocurrency platform,” which he alleged has “supported political and social initiatives” aligned with right‑wing groups in Poland. He told lawmakers that the firm’s backing was tied “not only to Russian capital” but also to “groups connected to the so‑called bratva, a term for Russian mafia organizations, as well as Russian security services.” Tusk links Zondacrypto to Russian ‘Bratva’ and intelligence According to Tusk, internal security agency findings show that Zondacrypto “sponsors political and social gatherings in Poland and champions very particular political factions,” including politicians from the former ruling Law and Justice party and the far‑right Confederation. Representative Sheri Biggs of South Carolina has disclosed a purchase of up to $250,000 in Bitcoin exposure.

Representative Sheri Biggs of South Carolina has disclosed a purchase of up to $250,000 in Bitcoin exposure via the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), marking one of the largest single Bitcoin-related buys by a sitting member of Congress. 

The Periodic Transaction Report filed with the House shows a transaction in the $100,001–$250,000 range executed on March 4, 2026 and reported in mid‑April, in line with disclosure deadlines under the STOCK Act.

The trade places Biggs among Congress’s most aggressive adopters of Bitcoin investment products, a cohort that already includes Senator David McCormick and Representative Brandon Gill, who have collectively reported hundreds of thousands of dollars in Bitcoin ETF purchases over the past year. 

Biggs has previously been identified by crypto advocacy groups as strongly supportive of digital assets, and her latest filing underscores how lawmakers are increasingly gaining direct financial exposure to the sector they help regulate.

The move comes as BTC trades below recent highs but remains a central focus of Washington’s ongoing debate over digital asset regulation and potential federal Bitcoin reserve policy.

French authorities are stepping up efforts to protect cryptocurrency investors amid a sharp increase in violent, targeted attacks.

Speaking at Paris Blockchain Week, Jean-Didier Berger, minister delegate to the interior minister of France, said the government has already introduced preventive steps. Specifically, these include a dedicated platform to reduce so-called “wrench attacks,” in which criminals use force to access digital assets.

The initiative is already seeing strong uptake, with thousands of users reportedly signing up. Berger also confirmed ongoing coordination with Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez on a broader national security strategy, which is expected to be developed in the coming weeks.

The urgency behind these measures is reflected in recent figures. French outlet RTL reported 41 crypto-related kidnappings so far in 2026. This suggests an incident roughly every two and a half days.

Beyond France, the trend appears global. Cybersecurity firm CertiK recorded 72 verified wrench attacks in 2025, a 75% year-on-year increase. France led with 19 cases, while Europe accounted for about 40% of all incidents.

Crypto today is sitting at a key level where the next move could be driven by FOMO.

On the technical side, high-cap assets are seeing steady inflows, which is keeping prices stable near key resistance zones.

With the weekend ahead and the stock market closed, crypto could see more inflows. The next 48 hours will be important in deciding whether the market builds a local bottom at these levels.

On the sentiment side, things are turning more bullish. The Crypto Fear and Greed Index has moved up two points and is now just two points away from entering the “greed” zone, which often signals stronger risk appetite.

Technically, Bitcoin’s [$BTC] push toward $76k shows this momentum may already be playing out.

Interestingly, crypto today also saw a liquidity flush, adding to the current setup.

According to CoinGlass, total liquidations came in at $539 million, with over 55% coming from shorts. Bitcoin alone saw $56 million in short liquidations as it broke $75.7k, marking one of the largest short squeezes in over a month.

However, the key question is whether crypto can carry this momentum into next week.

From a technical standpoint, short squeezes are bullish; however, for the move to sustain, strong underlying bid support is necessary. Otherwise, this could simply turn into another deleveraging event.

AMBCrypto believes that this is where FOMO begins to play a key role.

On the sentiment side, conditions are clearly supportive, but the real test is whether it’s translating into actual on-chain demand.

If so, crypto’s momentum today could extend into next week, with $80k as the near-term target. On the other hand, if demand weakens, the move could quickly lose strength.
