Semiconductor company ASML saw its shares dip on Wednesday morning after its China segment took a hit from new export bans. The equipment maker’s China segment shrank as a percentage of net system sales. ASML stock is down over 5% at the time of writing.“Demand for chips is outpacing supply. In response, our customers are accelerating their capacity expansion plans for 2026 and beyond,” said CEO Christophe Fouquet in the company’s quarterly results release. In its latest guidance for Q2, ASML raised its 2026 net sales forecast to a range of $42.46 billion to $47.18 billion. That’s up from a range of $40.12 billion and $46.02 billion previously forecasted.Last week, a bipartisan group of U.S. lawmakers proposed a bill that would cut off ASML’s sales of DUV machines to Chinese chip companies, thereby affecting its already shrinking sales there. That law still needs to work its way through the U.S. legislative process. While the Dutch chipmaker has never been allowed to sell EUV machines to China, it has long sold its lower-end deep ultraviolet, or DUV, chipmaking machines there. The Bitcoin price has somewhat slowed down over the weekend after a largely positive past few days, slipping below $73,000 in the early hours of Saturday, April 11th. According to an on-chain analyst, investors are beginning to increase their exposure to the world’s largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.

Are Investors Using BTC As A Hedge Against Inflation?
In a recent post on the X platform, pseudonymous market pundit Darkfost shared that a behavioral shift among Bitcoin investors is occurring at the moment. The crypto analyst revealed that this trend can be observed through the rotation of liquidity over the past few weeks.

Highlighting data from Checkonchain, Darkfost based their analysis on the Capital Rotation Net Position Change, which measures the flow of funds between major cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, in this case), stablecoins, and fiat currencies. This metric tracks whether investors are moving their capital into riskier assets (risk-on sentiment) or to risk-free assets (flight-to-safety sentiment).

In addition, the Capital Rotation Net Position Change metric calculates the 30-day net change in the digital asset’s realized capitalization. According to Darkfost’s post, Bitcoin’s realized cap fell to an extreme low of -$28.7 billion at the end of February.

At the same time, while BTC’s realized cap dwindled, the stablecoin market capitalization began to steadily increase, reaching more than $6 billion. This rise in the stablecoin market cap reflects a clear intention from investors to protect their capital, while its coincidence with Bitcoin’s realized cap drop marks the first time for such a rotation since the previous bear market.

Crypto analyst Ted Pillows has drawn attention to the Solana treasury companies, which appear to be struggling more than the Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP treasury companies. This comes amid the crypto market downtrend, with SOL suffering the largest drawdown among these coins.

Solana Treasuries Struggling Worse Than Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP Treasuries
In an X post, Ted Pillows stated that Solana treasury companies are looking like “Solana memecoins.” He noted that they are already down 80% to 90%, but could go lower before the bottom. Notably, the Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP treasury companies have shown greater strength than these Solana treasuries.

Ted Pillows highlighted the stock performance of the Solana treasury companies, Forward Industries, Sol Strategies, Sharps Technology, and DeFi Development Corporation (DFDV). Forward Industries, which is the largest Solana treasury, has seen its FWDI stock fall from a high above $40 last year to as low as $4. The stock is currently down over 80% in the last six months.

It is worth noting that Solana has suffered a larger crash than Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP from their October 2025 peaks, which could explain why the Solana treasury companies have suffered larger crashes than the BTC, ETH, and XRP treasury companies. The SOL price is down almost 55% in the last six months, while BTC, ETH, and XRP are down less than 50% in the same period.

Commenting on Ethereum treasury companies, Ted Pillows noted that they are showing some strength at the moment. However, he warned that this doesn’t mean that they have bottomed out, but that they could bring some buying pressure into ETH. The analyst added that after that, both ETH and treasury companies will go to new lows. Yet, the broader supply tells a different story, as Wholecoiners inflows fall to around 27,500 $BTC globally, far below the 80,000 $BTC peak in 2018. Binance flows average near 6,000 $BTC, reinforcing reduced long-term selling and tighter supply conditions.

This divergence reveals rotation, where short-term selling tests demand, while limited long-term supply forces price to rely on buyer strength.

LTH dominance tightens Bitcoin supply

This rotation between short-term selling and constrained supply begins to shape how Bitcoin behaves near resistance.

As the price approaches the $73,000 to $75,000 zone, STH continues circulating supply, reacting quickly to volatility, and using strength to exit positions. This keeps visible sell pressure active, especially during upward moves.

However, HODL waves reveal a deeper shift in control. Older age bands, especially 2y+ and 5y+ cohorts, continue expanding, while younger bands remain compressed. This implies Long-Term Holders (LTH) are not distributing but steadily absorbing supply over time. As a result, available liquid supply tightens, making price more sensitive to incoming demand.
