It's a macro catalyst that may have more runway than most expect. The rally is broad-based; Aave, HYPE, Ethereum, and Solana are all leading gains as risk appetite floods back into digital assets. Positive regulatory sentiment under the current US administration, combined with accelerating institutional inflows into ETH products, appears to be driving the move. Citi's 12-month ETH target of $5,440 is suddenly getting attention again.

Clarity Act News: Patrick Witt Reveals White House Stepped In to Save Crypto Bill


Crypto Analyst Tony Edward spoke with Patrick Witt, Executive Director, President’s Council of Advisors for Digital Assets at the Solana Policy Institute summit, where Witt gave a grounded update on the Clarity Act and what’s actually coming next behind the scenes.

Witt made it clear that the stablecoin issue almost blocked the bill completely. That’s when the White House stepped in to mediate between banks and crypto companies, trying to find language both sides could live with.

“We had to step in there and serve as a mediator… bringing the banks and crypto companies together… and ultimately get it to a place where we felt like it was ready to hand back over to the Senate… not to say either side is thrilled about it.”

He explained that this wasn’t about making everyone happy; it was about getting enough agreement to move forward. Banks wanted stricter rules if crypto firms act like banks, while crypto players didn’t want extra layers added at all. The final version sits somewhere in between.

The Clarity Act Timeline Is Tight

Witt didn’t sugarcoat the timeline either.

“Just working backwards from the August recess… you realize you have to take action now to get this out of the banking committee.”

From here, the bill still has to clear the Senate, go through reconciliation, and pass the House before reaching Donald Trump. There’s still a process, and it’s not a short one.

Once the Clarity Act is done, the focus shifts quickly.

Crypto’s next major inflection point is coming from artificial intelligence (AI).

That's according to Consensys CEO and Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin. He told CoinDesk that autonomous or semi-autonomous agents can transact, coordinate and verify one another on decentralized networks, using crypto rails as a foundation for machine-driven activity.

Earnings per share guidance for the second quarter was $0.78, below the $0.84 per share the Street was expecting. The company’s operating income outlook of $4.11 billion is also well below the $4.34 billion the Street anticipated.Additionally, Netflix only repurchased $1.3 billion of its stock in the first quarter, a slower pace than the $2.3 billion quarterly average in 2025. This sparked investor concerns and helped lead to the further 10% NFLX skid. Co-CEO Greg Peters tried to settle those fears on Netflix’s earnings call, saying, “Of course, it’s early in the year. There’s still plenty of time to go, plenty of work left to go do.” “We’ve seen really good progress so far in this first quarter that builds on the solid momentum and results from 2025,” Peters added. Furthermore, executives told Wall Street on its earnings call that there are no changes to its capital allocation program, despite their positivity around new podcasts, vertical videos, and live events. About $6.8 billion remains for repurchase under Netflix’s authorization.As for Q1 2026, Netflix reported revenue of $12.25 billion, compared with the Street’s $12.17 billion estimate, per Bloomberg consensus data. In the first quarter of last year, the company reported revenue of $10.54 billion. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $1.23, compared to estimates of $0.76. Zcash (ZEC) Price Drops 4% Following Selling Pressure

Despite the bullish sentiment in the overall crypto market, the leading privacy coin, Zcash ($ZEC), suffered a drop of around 4.23% on a daily chart, declining its value by $330.

At present, Zcash is trading at around $328.69 with a market capitalization of $5.46 billion, according to CoinMarketCap. The daily trading volume is revolving around $468.36 million.

While the $ZEC price witnessed back-to-back drops in the last few days, it still has a monthly gain of around 33%.

Zcash Faces Correction Despite Bullish Sentiment in Crypto Market

The decline comes even while the crypto market is showing mixed signals with selective profit-taking across alternative coins. Bitcoin traded with limited movement around recent levels after earlier gains, and this created a cautious environment for privacy-focused tokens like Zcash.

According to experts, investors mentioning short-term profit booking following a strong rally in $ZEC earlier in 2026 as one major reason behind the current drop. During the last few trading sessions, many traders have purchased $ZEC at low prices. Now, they are selling their tokens.

The current drop comes after facing a rejection at $350, which played a role as a major resistance level. $ZEC has followed a consolidation pattern between $320 and $350 for many weeks after an earlier surge. The recent sessions saw the price break above an important support level around $340, and this breakdown triggered additional sell orders from traders watching the chart closely.

Zcash is now showing early signs of potential further weakness if the price fails to reclaim the broken level on strong buying volume. According to the current price chart, there is a strong support level at around $320, and if the cryptocurrency falls below this level, it could open the door for deep corrections.

The Bitcoin MarketMaker Buy Strategy

Crypto market expert Merlijn The Trader has presented a market structure model on X, showing that Bitcoin’s recent price action is unfolding in line with an institutional trading cycle. The chart framework, known as the MarketMaker Buy Model, argues that large institutional players move markets in predictable stages designed to transfer Bitcoin from emotional retail traders into stronger, long-term holders before pushing prices significantly higher.

According to the analyst, the first stage of the cycle, highlighted in the first green box on the chart, began with a “Distribution” phase that occurred between about $100,000 and $120,000 in mid-2024. During this period, Bitcoin traded in a choppy downward pattern. This type of movement indicated that large holders were selling their Bitcoin amid strong demand from retail traders buying aggressively near the market top.
