A surprise uptick in a key factory gauge has traders rethinking risk, while crypto watchers debate whether Bitcoin will ride a fresh wave higher or stay stuck in a drawdown.

The ISM Manufacturing PMI rose into expansion territory in January, and that single data point has set off a flurry of takes from market strategists and crypto analysts alike.

ISM Manufacturing Signals Shift
According to the Institute for Supply Management, the PMI clocked in at 52.6 for January. That number crosses the line that separates contraction from growth.

For investors who watch signals closely, a move like that can mean money starts flowing back into assets seen as higher risk.

“Past breakouts in 2013, 2016, and 2020 served as key catalysts for Bitcoin’s major bull runs,” Strive vice president of Bitcoin strategy, Joe Burnett, said.
The Fed will notice. A stronger manufacturing print changes the debate about inflation and rate policy. Traders price in the chance of tighter policy when growth looks solid.

At the same time, some economists point out manufacturing is only one piece of the puzzle. Services, employment, and consumer demand also matter. Reports note the index reading was the best since August 2022, which makes it notable on its own.

One of the longest ISM Manufacturing PMI contraction periods in U.S. history ended this morning with a breakout to 52.6, up 4.7 points from December.

Tether, the issuer of USDt, the world’s largest stablecoin, reported around $3 billion less in net profits in 2025, while its US Treasury holdings reached new all-time highs.

In a report published on Friday and prepared by accounting firm BDO, Tether said it posted net profits of more than $10 billion in 2025, which is down around 23% from the $13 billion it reported in 2024.

Meanwhile, Tether said its direct US Treasury holdings climbed above $122 billion in 2025, marking “the highest level ever.” The company said this shows the “ongoing shift toward highly liquid, low-risk assets.”

The company issued $50 billion in new USDt (USDT) over the 12-month period, with Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino saying demand for the stablecoin grew as “global demand” for US dollars moved outside traditional banking rails.

Besides, the Dogecoin market has witnessed a liquidation event of $2.40 million.

With the ongoing bearish correction, the DOGE price could retrace to the $0.1068 support range. If the downside move intensifies, the death cross might unfold and send the price below $0.1057. Conversely, a bullish reversal could trigger the Dogecoin price to rise to the nearest resistance at $0.1090. Assuming the upside pressure builds more traction, the golden cross would emerge, with the price climbing above $0.1102.

A Downtrend Is Taking Shape for DOGE as Technical Momentum Weakens
DOGE’s Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) line and the signal line are stationed below the zero line, hinting at a downtrend. It is trading below its longer-term average. Even with brief bounces, the broader trend remains weak, and only a bullish crossover gives signs of trend reversal.

Moreover, the Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) indicator resting at 0.06 points to slight buying pressure in the Dogecoin market. As it is above zero, the money is flowing into the asset, showing mild accumulation. Notably, a sturdy buying interest is necessary to confirm a solid bullish trend.
