Crypto asset manager CoinShares to list on Nasdaq after $1.2 billion SPAC deal



CoinShares, a leading European digital asset manager with over $6 billion under management, is set to begin trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market under the ticker symbol CSHR.

The listing follows a $1.2 billion merge with Vine Hill Capital Investment Corp., a U.S.-based special purpose acquisition company (SPAC).

The deal forms CoinShares PLC, and makes the asset manager the latest in the cryptocurrency space to go public It comes after BitGo (BTGO), went public earlier in the year, while various crypto firms listed in 2025 including stablecoin issuer Circle (CRCL), CoinDesk owner Bullish (BLSH), and exchange Gemini (GEMI).

CoinShares built its business around crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs) and now manages 39 funds across four platforms. The company generates most of its revenue through recurring fees, a model it says supports strong profitability and free cash flow.

“We are diversifying both our product and revenue mix, including new capabilities in listed asset management, active alternative strategies. and decentralized finance,” CEO Jean-Marie Mognetti said.

For investors, the move opens a new U.S.-based option to gain exposure to crypto markets through a firm already established in Europe. CoinShares says it’s leading the market in the continent with a 34% share.

CoinShares’ U.S. expansion will include product development and acquisitions, while proximity to U.S. regulators may help it adapt quickly to shifting compliance standards in the crypto sector.

Bitcoin’s drawdown is ‘less dramatic’ this cycle, Fidelity says


Bitcoin has declined by about 50% this market cycle, far less than in previous cycles, Fidelity Digital Assets said, adding this trend could continue over time.

Bitcoin’s post-all-time-high drawdowns have historically been steep, at about 80% to 90%, but this cycle has been about 50%, Fidelity Digital Assets research analyst Zack Wainwright said Tuesday.

One can see the “diminishing returns” that have developed from cycle to cycle when looking at Bitcoin’s price performance from the perspective of the previous all-time high, he said.

“Each cycle has been less dramatic to the upside than the previous,” he said. “Downside risk has been less dramatic in 2026, the current cycle, as well,” he added.

Bitcoin’s price hit its current cycle low of just over $60,000 on Feb. 6, a decline of 52% from its Oct. 6 all-time high of about $126,000, according to TradingView. It is currently down 46% from its peak six months ago.

The previous cycle saw a much larger decline of 77%, from the 2021 all-time high of $69,000 to a bear market low just below $16,000 in November 2022.

Smart money is hedging bitcoin more aggressively than ether :Crypto Daybook Americas

As the new quarter gets underway, the crypto market is sending a subtle but important signal: traders seem a bit more cautious about bitcoin than ether ($ETH).

You can see this in the options market, where more experienced traders and institutions go to hedge risk or generate extra returns. Think of options as a kind of insurance. Traders can buy protection against price drops (puts) or bet on price increases (calls), depending on their outlook.

Right now, one key metric, called a risk reversal, is negative for both bitcoin and ether across different time frames. In simple terms, that means puts, or downside protection, is more expensive than bullish bets. When traders are willing to pay more for put options, it usually signals lingering fears of a price drop. That's perfectly normal, considering the brutal downtrend in bitcoin and ether since October.

But here’s where it gets interesting: that caution is stronger for bitcoin. Put options on bitcoin are more expensive than those on ether across all time frames, suggesting traders are more worried about $BTC’s downside risk.

The difference becomes even clearer when zooming further out. Longer-dated ether options, such as those expiring next March, are only slightly bearish, while bitcoin’s equivalent options carry a much steeper premium for downside protection.

In short, the market is betting that ether will be relatively resilient. That would signal a bullish trend change in the ether-to-bitcoin ratio, which has been in a downtrend since August (see the technical analysis section).

U.S.listed spot bitcoin ETFs ended March with $1.32 billion in net inflows to record their first monthly inflows since October, SoSoValue data shows.

This follows four consecutive months of net outflows, which coincided with bitcoin declining by as much as 50% from its October all time high of $126,000.
November saw $3.5 billion in outflows, followed by $1.1 billion in December, $1.6 billion in January, and $206 million in February.

March also marked bitcoin’s first positive monthly candle in six months, suggesting a potential shift in momentum.

ETF assets under management have remained relatively resilient, however. Holdings declined from 1.38 million $BTC in October to a low of 1.28 million $BTC, a drop of roughly 7%, and have since recovered to around 1.31 million $BTC, according to CheckonChain.

ETF investors remain underwater on average, with an estimated cost basis near $84,000 compared to a current spot price of about $68,000.
