According to the latest report, xAI, the company owned by tech billionaire Elon Musk, has sued the US state of Colorado. The lawsuit, filed on Thursday, aims to block the state’s Senate Bill 24-205 from coming into effect.

Reportedly, the bill intends to reduce “algorithmic discrimination” in AI systems used in sensitive areas, such as hiring, housing, banking, and employment decisions.

But xAI argues that the legislation goes too far by trying to control how AI models like Grok generate and deliver responses. According to the company, this amounts to government interference in how its chatbot communicates with users.

xAI’s court filing states, “Colorado cannot alter xAI’s message simply because it wants to amplify its own views on the highly politicized subjects of fairness and equity.”  The filing added that it would hinder its mission to make Grok a “maximally truth-seeking.”

It is worth noting that this development comes on the heels of X’s launch of labeled paid crypto promotions. Elon Musk intends to promote crypto-related sponsored posts on his X platform

US inflation soars to 3.3% in largest jump since 2021 – so why did Bitcoin barely move?
A hotter-than-expected CPI print usually hits risk assets. Bitcoin barely moved, raising fresh questions about what the market priced in.

March inflation has delivered a split result with one immediate consequence. US consumer prices accelerated hard enough to keep the Federal Reserve boxed in, while the softer core reading kept the next month alive as the real test.

That tension reaches well beyond macro calendars. Bitcoin has spent much of 2026 trading through rates, liquidity, and the price of money. When inflation jumps because fuel prices rise, the chain reaction runs from the pump to bond yields to risk appetite, and then into crypto.

The March data shows headline CPI rose 3.3% year over year, up from 2.4% in February, while monthly CPI came in at 0.9%. Core CPI rose 2.6% year over year and 0.2% month over month.

The jump is the biggest single-month increase since March 2021.

That leaves two truths sitting side by side. Inflation jumped, and the jump still looks concentrated enough that April and May data will decide whether this was a violent energy shock or the start of something broader.

For Bitcoin, that distinction shapes the path of liquidity, the odds of rate relief, and the room for any recovery rally to keep climbing.

Repayments follow backlash over borrowing and liquidity

The move comes after mounting criticism of WLFI’s activity on its own lending platform, where it emerged as one of the largest borrowers.

As previously reported, the project deposited billions of WLFI tokens as collateral and borrowed over $75 million in stablecoins. This move drove lending yields higher but also strained liquidity.

The situation sparked concerns among users who were unable to withdraw funds, with analysts warning of potential bad debt and broader contagion risks if positions were not managed carefully.

WLFI dismissed those concerns, stating it was “nowhere near liquidation” and could add more collateral if needed.

Price continues to weaken despite repayments

Despite the repayments, WLFI’s market performance suggests that investor confidence has yet to recover.

The token is trading near $0.08, down over 7%, extending a broader downtrend marked by lower highs and sustained selling pressure.

Momentum indicators point to weakness. The Relative Strength Index [RSI] has fallen to around 25, placing the asset in deeply oversold territory. While this can signal the potential for a short-term bounce, it also reflects the intensity of recent selling.

Notably, WLFI’s decline has come even as the broader crypto market shows signs of stabilization, highlighting a divergence between the token’s sentiment and the broader market’s.

On April 10, Pepe memecoin price gained an upward momentum, where it rose by around 2% on a daily chart following a recent exchange-traded funds filing from Canary Capital.

The price surge in memecoin comes amid the positive sentiment in the overall crypto market, as Bitcoin (BTC) seems steady after breaking the $72,000 mark.

At the time of writing this, Pepe coin price is hovering around $0.000003644 with a staggering market capitalization of $1.5 billion, according to CoinMarketCap. Amid the news of exchange-traded funds, the daily trading volume also soared by around $361 million with a spike of 22%.

Canary Capital’s Spot $PEPE ETF Filing Sparks Euphoria in Memecoin Community

On April 8, asset management firm Canary Capital submitted a filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission to issue the first spot exchange-traded fund linked to Pepecoin. If approved, the new product will be launched as Canary $PEPE ETF.

After the success of Bitcoin ETFs, which currently hold $56.85 billion in total net inflows, many leading financial institutions are rushing to issue ETFs for other cryptocurrencies. This filing will allow regular investors to buy shares through normal brokerage accounts and gain direct exposure to the price of the popular memecoin. The fund will hold actual $PEPE tokens on the Ethereum blockchain rather than using futures contracts or other indirect methods.

According to the official S-1 registration document submitted on April 8, the trust will hold the coins with a professional custodian for safety. It may also hold around 5% of its assets in Ethereum to cover small network fees.

The development is showing growing interest from Wall Street in memecoins. It comes after earlier filings for Dogecoin ETFs and comes as firms like Canary Capital expand beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum.
