The conversation around real-world assets, or RWAs, got another boost today after the RWA Foundation argued that tokenization is moving from theory to infrastructure. In a post on X, the group said trillions of dollars in value from stocks, real estate, private credit, bonds, collectibles and commodities are being rebuilt on faster and more efficient rails, with the market still “barely getting started.”

The message was simple but bold: crypto is no longer just adding RWAs on the margins, it is starting to absorb the plumbing of traditional finance itself. At the heart of the post was a familiar promise that has become harder to dismiss. Tokenization, RWA Foundation said, is replacing limited access with global access, T+2 settlement with near-instant settlement, opaque structures with onchain transparency, and illiquid ma

Clarity Act News: Patrick Witt Reveals White House Stepped In to Save Crypto Bill


Crypto Analyst Tony Edward spoke with Patrick Witt, Executive Director, President’s Council of Advisors for Digital Assets at the Solana Policy Institute summit, where Witt gave a grounded update on the Clarity Act and what’s actually coming next behind the scenes.

Witt made it clear that the stablecoin issue almost blocked the bill completely. That’s when the White House stepped in to mediate between banks and crypto companies, trying to find language both sides could live with.

“We had to step in there and serve as a mediator… bringing the banks and crypto companies together… and ultimately get it to a place where we felt like it was ready to hand back over to the Senate… not to say either side is thrilled about it.”

He explained that this wasn’t about making everyone happy; it was about getting enough agreement to move forward. Banks wanted stricter rules if crypto firms act like banks, while crypto players didn’t want extra layers added at all. The final version sits somewhere in between.

The Clarity Act Timeline Is Tight

Witt didn’t sugarcoat the timeline either.

“Just working backwards from the August recess… you realize you have to take action now to get this out of the banking committee.”

From here, the bill still has to clear the Senate, go through reconciliation, and pass the House before reaching Donald Trump. There’s still a process, and it’s not a short one.

The US government has moved around $606,000 worth of BTC to a Coinbase Prime wallet, research from on-chain intelligence portal Arkham shows. While the value of the cryptocurrency involved was minuscule compared to the overall stash in the government wallets, the origin of these BTC can be traced back to the Bitfinex hack of 2016. The move is raising questions about whether this is a test run to transfer these BTC to institutional wallets, signaling the end of this nearly decade-long high-profile hack.
The cryptocurrency exchange witnessed one of the largest cyber attacks in the history of the digital currency market, with users losing 119,754 BTC in total. Ilya Lichtenstein exploited a vulnerability in Bitfinex’s multi-signature withdrawal system, authorizing over 2,000 fraudulent transactions, and was able to steal a huge amount from the exchange’s wallets.

American authorities recovered roughly 94,000 BTC from the hackers, and the stash has been sitting in government wallets ever since. It is worth a whopping $7.1 billion based on the cryptocurrency’s latest valuation. Ten years ago, it was worth just $71 million. 

Lichtenstein and his wife, Heather Morgan, were both co-accused in this case and were arrested in 2022 under money laundering charges. Both received multi-year sentences after pleading guilty.
