Following the release of the latest US Consumer Price Index (CPI) data, Bitcoin and Ethereum have maintained their current price levels. The March CPI report indicated a 3.3% year-over-year inflation increase, aligning with expectations and reflecting the economic impact of the recent US-Iran conflict. Despite the elevated inflation figures, Bitcoin traded around $72,233 with a modest intraday gain, while Ethereum saw a slight increase to $2,220.

Bitcoin Price Outlook: Potential Rally to $77K

Bitcoin's price chart exhibits a bullish flag pattern, suggesting a potential upward movement. If Bitcoin successfully breaks through the resistance of this pattern and reclaims it as support, a rally of approximately 6.8% could ensue, targeting a price of $77,564. Technical indicators, including a strong uptrend indicated by the rising ADX line and a bullish RSI reading at 67, further support this optimistic price forecast.

Ethereum Price Forecast: Bullish Momentum Builds

Ethereum also displays a bullish flag pattern, with a confirmed breakout occurring on April 10th. This breakout, coupled with a confirmed support hold at the previous resistance level, could trigger a rally of up to 9.46%, potentially pushing ETH's price above $2,400. Analysts suggest that if DOGE/BTC continues to slide and the USDT/Bitcoin support level breaks, it could trigger a larger wave of selling pressure. In that case, Dogecoin might even drift toward the $0.07 range. Even though a recent large DOGE transfer on Robinhood briefly supported price action, overall momentum still looks weak, and the market seems to be lacking a strong catalyst—like renewed hype or another Elon Musk-driven rally.
From a long-term view, using Elliott Wave analysis, Dogecoin’s major rally in early 2024 may have already completed its strong upward phase. Since then, the structure appears to be correcting, and DOGE could currently be in a fourth-wave retracement phase. If this cycle plays out fully, a potential fifth wave could still push prices toward higher targets like $1.41—but that bullish scenario would be invalidated if key support levels fail to hold.

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) has handed out its first stablecoin licenses, and the winners are Standard Chartered’s JV and HSBC.

HKMA Has Released First Stablecoin Licenses After A Delay
According to HKMA’s website, two entities have now become registered stablecoin issuers in Hong Kong: Anchorpoint Financial Limited and The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited.

Hong Kong launched its stablecoin bill called the Stablecoins Ordinance back in August 2025, establishing a licensing regime for stablecoin issuers. Under this law, parties interested in issuing fiat-tied cryptocurrencies in the Chinese city have to first obtain a license from the HKMA.

Major names quickly lined up to apply for a license. This included HSBC and Anchorpoint Financial Limited. The latter is a joint venture (JV) created by Standard Chartered, Animoca Brands, and Hong Kong Telecom. In total, the HKMA ended up receiving applications from 36 entities. Despite the high interest, though, Eddie Yue, the financial regulator’s chief executive, said in February that a “very small number” of licenses would be granted in the first wave.

Yue also said that these licenses would arrive in March, but in the end, no licenses were issued during that month, suggesting a delay from the HKMA. However, today, on April 10th, the first batch has finally gone out.

With just two licenses being handed out, Yue indeed set up the correct expectations. As mentioned earlier, Standard Chartered’s JV and HSBC are the applicants who have received the first approval. Thus, these banks have a head start over the rest when it comes to stablecoins in the region.

Hong Kong’s stablecoins advance is just one example of positive regulation that these fiat-tied tokens have seen the world over in the past year. One of the most important wins for the sector has been the GENIUS Act signed into law by United States President Donald Trump last year.
