Recent price action pushed the cryptocurrency as high as $1.39, creating what looks like a temporary rally. However, one analyst believes the real move hasn’t happened yet, and the current price action is merely preparing for a bigger downward push that could catch traders off guard.

Clean Wave Structure Points To A Larger Move Brewing
The XRP price climbed as high as $1.39 on April 8 as a Pakistan-brokered ceasefire between the US and Iran led to a wave of short liquidations across the crypto market, and sentiment changed from extreme fear to cautious neutral optimism.

But crypto analyst CasiTrades, who has been tracking XRP’s wave structure, saw something different in the price action. The bounce, she says, was exactly what the chart needed to complete a corrective structure. Now, the real move is set to begin.

According to CasiTrades, the recent XRP price bounce in XRP was the completion of a corrective phase. The move into the 0.618 Fibonacci retracement level, which is visible on the chart around the $1.35 to $1.40 range, helped confirm what she identifies as a clean Wave 2 in an Elliott Wave structure.

This move completed the counter-trend move without breaking the broader bearish count. Despite the strength of the bounce, it failed to break above these Fibonacci levels, and XRP is now back to trading at $1.32. Therefore, the next projected move is a Wave 3 impulse that continues the correction.

CasiTrades’ analysis lays out a five-wave impulsive decline playing out on the one-hour timeframe. On-chain data shows Bitcoin has been trading inside a major cost-basis cluster recently, and the latest rally hasn’t taken it past the range either.

Bitcoin URPD Shows Significant Supply Has Cost Basis Near Current Levels

In a new post on X, analyst Ali Martinez has discussed the latest data for the UTXO Realized Price Distribution (URPD) of Bitcoin. This on-chain indicator tells us about the amount of $BTC that was last purchased at the various price levels visited by the cryptocurrency in its history.

Below is the chart shared by Martinez that shows how the URPD of Bitcoin is looking right now.

As is visible in the graph, there are some levels near to the current spot price with a notable amount of supply last purchased according to the URPD. Naturally, the investors holding coins with a cost basis at one of these levels below the latest price would be in some profit right now, while those above would be underwater.

However, the latest price surge has meant that the majority of investors inside this cluster are now in the green. From the chart, it’s visible that this supply zone sits between $63,100 and $73,200. Following the rally back above $72,000, $BTC has climbed toward the end of this range, but hasn’t yet exited it.



Generally, investors who are in loss tend to react to a retest of their cost basis by selling, as they may fear going back underwater. Profitable hands, on the other hand, may accumulate more at their cost basis to defend it.

Referring to the cluster between $63,100 and $73,200, the analyst noted:

This is where millions of holders “voted” on the price. As long as we trade within this range, these investors are psychologically incentivized to defend their buy-in.

According to market data, the XRP to Bitcoin ratio shows a relative strength index at 24, marking one of the most oversold levels since late 2025. Historically, such conditions have often led to strong recoveries, with XRP posting significant gains against Bitcoin in previous cycles.

Even the brief relief from softer core CPI data this morning was not enough to push Bitcoin through.

Altcoins Bear the Brunt

Ethereum, Solana, and Dogecoin each declined on the day, tracking Bitcoin’s inability to convert the $73,000 test into a breakout. The altcoin market is structurally leveraged to Bitcoin’s directional moves; when BTC fails resistance, altcoins tend to sell off faster and recover slower.

The three consecutive rejections at $73,000 have reinforced the view that the ceasefire alone was not enough to end the war’s grip on market sentiment. Traders are still pricing persistent geopolitical risk from an only partially open Strait of Hormuz and a fragile, untested peace process.

Bittensor Co-Founder Pushes Back on Covenant AI Claims as Governance Dispute Deepens
Bittensor co-founder Jacob Steeves has denied that he can suspend subnet emissions, directly challenging a central claim made by Covenant AI founder Sam Dare.

The public dispute comes a day after Covenant AI said it was leaving Bittensor over what it described as centralized control disguised as decentralization.

The Bittensor governance dispute has moved into a more direct and more personal phase, with co-founder Jacob Steeves now publicly rejecting the accusations that prompted Covenant AI’s exit from the network.

In a post on X, Steeves denied that he has the power to suspend subnet emissions, contradicting one of the most serious claims made a day earlier by Covenant AI founder Sam Dare. Dare had announced on Thursday that Covenant was leaving Bittensor, accusing Steeves of running what he called “decentralization theatre” while retaining effective control over the network’s governance.

Steeves rejects claim of privileged control

Dare’s original statement listed four actions he said Steeves had taken against Covenant AI. Those included suspending emissions to Covenant’s subnets, removing the team’s moderation abilities in community channels, unilaterally deprecating subnet infrastructure and applying economic pressure through large, visible token sales during operational disputes.

Steeves responded point by point, but his clearest rebuttal focused on emissions. “I do not have the ability to suspend emissions,” he wrote, arguing that any changes tied to his activity came through normal market mechanics rather than founder privilege.

That distinction matters because the core of Dare’s criticism was not just about a disagreement between builders. It was about whether Bittensor’s decentralization model functions as advertised when conflict hits.
