Unlike Bitwise, Grayscale doesn’t plan to incorporate staking for its Hyperliquid ETF but hasn’t ruled out integrating it in the future.
Crypto asset manager Grayscale has filed for a spot Hyperliquid exchange-traded fund, joining Bitwise and 21Shares in seeking to offer a product tied to the Hyperliquid perpetual futures protocol and blockchain.

The Grayscale HYPE ETF would track the price movement of the Hyperliquid (HYPE) token and trade under the ticker GHYP on the Nasdaq if approved, according to Grayscale’s S-1 registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday.

Grayscale listed Coinbase as the custodian but didn’t disclose a management fee for the proposed Hyperliquid product.
Grayscale’s filing comes as Hyperliquid continues to be integrated by crypto platforms and be increasingly relied on by TradFi when traditional markets are closed, as it offers 24/7 trading for tokenized real-world assets like oil and gold.

Grayscale said it may consider incorporating staking rewards into its Hyperliquid ETF at a later date, provided certain conditions are met.

CFTC staff details how crypto firms can use digital assets as derivatives collateral in new FAQ

The CFTC published an FAQ clarifying how futures commission merchants and clearinghouses should handle crypto collateral under existing no-action guidance.

The FAQ aligns the CFTC’s capital charge framework with the SEC’s recent broker-dealer haircut guidance, setting a 20% charge for bitcoin and ether and 2% for payment stablecoins.

FCMs can deposit proprietary payment stablecoins as residual interest in customer accounts, but cannot deposit other crypto assets like bitcoin or ether for that purpose.

Staff at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Friday published a set of frequently asked questions spelling out the operational details of how futures commission merchants and clearinghouses should handle crypto assets used as collateral in derivatives markets.

The FAQ, issued jointly by the CFTC's Market Participants Division and Division of Clearing and Risk, addresses questions that arose following two staff letters issued in Dec. 2025. Those letters, one on tokenized collateral and another providing a no-action position on digital assets accepted as margin, formed the backbone of a digital assets pilot program launched by former Acting Chair Caroline Pham that allowed bitcoin, ether and USDC to be posted as collateral in derivatives markets.

Among the most notable clarifications: the CFTC is explicitly harmonizing its capital charge framework with the SEC's. Futures Commission Merchants (FCMs) holding proprietary positions in bitcoin or ether should apply a minimum 20% capital charge, while payment stablecoins get a 2% charge.

Bitcoin Still Trapped in a Bear Flag
Although BTC recovered to the mid-$70,000s, this alone does not confirm that the market is out of danger. Crypto analyst CrypFlow notes that while higher timeframes show some constructive signs, the daily chart still displays a bearish structure that has not been invalidated. This means the recent bounce may be temporary.
The daily candlestick chart shows that since early February, Bitcoin has been consolidating within a rising channel. In the context of the prior downtrend, this is classified as a “bear flag.” BTC recently rallied toward the upper boundary near $76,000 but was rejected and fell back toward the channel midline, placing it at a critical short-term decision point. Historically, a similar bear flag from mid-November 2025 to late January 2026 led to a breakdown to $60,000 in early February 2026.
The $70K–$76K Zone Is Crucial
Currently, Bitcoin is trading between the channel midline and the rejection zone near $76,000. At the time of writing, BTC is around $70,610, close to the $70,000 support level. If it closes the week below $70,000, the bear flag structure suggests a potential drop toward at least $65,000.
On a macro level, CrypFlow also highlights the Gaussian Channel indicator, which tracks Bitcoin’s behavior across full market cycles. Historically, major cycle bottoms have only occurred after the Gaussian Channel flips from green to red. In February 2026, the channel turned red after BTC hit its low, implying that while Bitcoin remains above $60,000, this may not be the final bottom.

Digital commodities, like Dogecoin and Shiba Inu, derive their value from active blockchain ecosystems and supply-and-demand dynamics, with decentralization being a key factor.
This decision is significant because it ends a decade-long debate between US regulators and could set the stage for renewed confidence and potential price movement in popular meme coins. By officially removing Dogecoin and Shiba Inu from the securities debate, the SEC and CFTC have provided the crypto market with greater regulatory clarity and a more predictable framework for these assets.
