The company mined 661 self-mined bitcoins during the month, marking an impressive 480% year-over-year increase, reflecting strong operational scaling and improved mining efficiency.
Bitdeer now operates approximately 225,000 proprietary mining rigs, while managing a total fleet of about 262,000 machines. At the same time, it is aggressively expanding its global energy footprint, targeting up to 3.0 gigawatts of power capacity across current and planned facilities.
On the computing side, its self-mining hashrate has surged to around 70 EH/s, a remarkable 504% increase compared to last year, positioning Bitdeer among the largest Bitcoin miners by computing power. Including hosted operations, its total managed hashrate has reached 78.1 EH/s.
This growth comes at a time when global Bitcoin mining remains highly competitive, with total network hashrate hovering around 855 EH/s. Despite a slight quarterly decline across the industry due to weaker prices and rising competition, leading miners continue to scale aggressively.

Representative Sheri Biggs of South Carolina has disclosed a purchase of up to $250,000 in Bitcoin exposure.

Representative Sheri Biggs of South Carolina has disclosed a purchase of up to $250,000 in Bitcoin exposure via the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), marking one of the largest single Bitcoin-related buys by a sitting member of Congress. 

The Periodic Transaction Report filed with the House shows a transaction in the $100,001–$250,000 range executed on March 4, 2026 and reported in mid‑April, in line with disclosure deadlines under the STOCK Act.

The trade places Biggs among Congress’s most aggressive adopters of Bitcoin investment products, a cohort that already includes Senator David McCormick and Representative Brandon Gill, who have collectively reported hundreds of thousands of dollars in Bitcoin ETF purchases over the past year. 

Biggs has previously been identified by crypto advocacy groups as strongly supportive of digital assets, and her latest filing underscores how lawmakers are increasingly gaining direct financial exposure to the sector they help regulate.

The move comes as BTC trades below recent highs but remains a central focus of Washington’s ongoing debate over digital asset regulation and potential federal Bitcoin reserve policy.

Former UK Prime Minister sees economy on 'very negative trajectory,' indicates support for bitcoin

Liz Truss, the U.K.'s shortest-serving prime minister, said the country's economy has been stagnating for decades and many of the problems result from a lack of sound money and the debasement of the currency, an erosion in the value of sterling caused by inflation and the printing of new banknotes.

Truss, who led a Conservative government for 45 days in 2022, said the financial situation strengthened her interest in bitcoin , which some observers see as a tool against debasement. She said she's "very interested" in the cryptocurrency, which she first encountered when working at the Treasury and mentioned it there "to shake things up." Truss was Chief Secretary to the Treasury for about two years until July 2019.

“A lot of the problems we have are due to debasement of our currency and lack of sound money,” Truss said in an interview with CoinDesk. The absence of serious debate around money in academia and government had become “quite sinister,” and discussions about monetary policy had become “a taboo” within government, despite its central role in driving economic outcomes.

For Truss, bitcoin sits alongside a wider concern about centralization and control. She warned the current system is geared toward increasing “centralized control” and limiting financial independence, particularly through regulation and taxation, and positioned bitcoin as part of a pushback against that trend.

The economy is on a “very negative trajectory,” she said, warning the country faces long-term decline driven by weak growth, rising state control and what she sees as a failure of monetary policy.

“We are getting relatively poorer, very quickly,” she said, pointing to high taxes, regulation and energy costs that make “the risk often not worth the reward” for entrepreneurs. “There
