Solana breaks $80 after 10% rally – THIS decides SOL’s $100 target

The altcoin market has landed at a key spot, and Solana is no exception.

Crypto rallied over the past 24 hours, pushing Bitcoin and several altcoins beyond key resistance levels.

Solana cleared the $80 supply zone, reopening a potential path toward $100 by the end of Q3. Its improving fundamentals kept that target within reach.

As the chart below shows, Solana’s tokenization and ETF momentum continues to pick up. Just seven weeks in, Backpack and Sunrise’s tokenized stocks on Solana are already outperforming U.S. exchanges.

During regular hours, Solana trades roughly in line with TradFi. But pre-market, post-market, and overnight, the edge flips, highlighting Solana’s growing potential as an alternative to traditional market infrastructure.

Notably, the market is already starting to take notice.

According to SoSoValue, Solana ETFs ended the week with over $10 million in net inflows, marking their strongest weekly inflow since the May cycle.

Combined with strong tokenization activity, this points to growing institutional interest and adds more weight to the $100 $SOL target.

Naturally, that brings the focus back to the past 24 hours.

With the broader market turning risk-on and Solana’s [$SOL] fundamentals strengthening, the 10%+ move on the 19th of August could just be the start for $SOL. However, the market still doesn’t look fully convinced.

Solana targets $100, but the rally needs more strength

The past 24 hours have been a textbook liquidation event.

Solana has been no exception.

According to SolanaFloor, nearly $40 million in $SOL shorts were liquidated in the last hour as $SOL pushed back above $80. The largest single short liquidation was $1 million around $82. Meanwhile, longs are piling back in, with Arkham spotting a $40 million leveraged long opened by one trader.

Holding equal weights across the five assets can amplify the impact of higher-volatility hype and pumps on portfolio performance. While this could increase potential returns, it can also increase the overall risk and volatility of the portfolio.

However, this strategy also carries a significant risk. If assets with higher volatility, such as those fueled by hype and pump, experience sharp declines in value, the overall performance of the portfolio could be negatively impacted.

Finally, it should be noted that the analyst’s assessment reflects personal market expectations and is not a definitive price prediction. The direction the crypto market will take in the coming years depends on many factors, including global liquidity conditions, interest rate policies, regulatory developments, institutional investor interest, and Bitcoin’s overall market trend.

Tokenized deposits are going on-chain — but they won’t be permissionless
Blockchain may be reshaping the walled gardens of banking, but the walls are not coming down soon. Even on the same rails, deposits and stablecoins play by different rules: deposits remain more private, more permissioned and more anchored to traditional banking.

Why tokenized deposits are different

Banks are increasingly putting deposits on blockchain rails, but within permissioned environments. Citi and BNY are using private blockchain infrastructure, while JPMorgan has recently launched JPMD (JPMorgan Deposit Token), a permissioned deposit token on the public Base blockchain. Whatever the infrastructure, tokenized deposits remain permissioned because they are deposit liabilities of regulated banks.

Evernorth is looking to deploy its XRP holdings across the XRP Ledger ecosystem as proposed lending functionality moves through the network's review process, according to Chief Business Officer Sagar Shah.

Speaking to The Block's Kelvin Sparks at the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium 2026, Shah said Evernorth was built as an XRP-focused digital asset treasury with the aim of putting its holdings to use rather than simply holding them. The company is also in the process of going public, he said.

Shah is particularly excited about XLS-66, a proposal designed to bring native lending functionality to the XRP Ledger. Shah argued that implementing XLS-66 at the ledger level could offer greater protections than DeFi applications built through smart contracts on top of other networks.

"Because it's natively built into the ledger, I think a lot of the protections that exist, smart contract exploits might exist with other chains, are almost non-existent on the XRP Ledger," Shah said. Validators are currently reviewing the code and assessing its robustness as the proposal moves forward.

Shah, who previously spent five years at Ripple, also highlighted confidential transfers and smart escrows as additional functions that could broaden the XRP Ledger's use in real-world assets. He said roughly $30 billion in assets are currently tokenized, while the market could potentially run into the trillions.

While momentum is building again, latest data provided by crypto analytics platform CryptoQuant shows that the amount of Shiba Inu available for sale on exchanges has been reduced substantially, reflecting a bullish netflow balance.

Following the bullish exchange activity, the data shows that the Shiba Inu exchange netflow is currently sitting at a negative balance of -207,257,000,000 $SHIB, which is bullish for its price.

It is important to note that such negative balances in the $SHIB exchange netflow provide a bullish outlook for the meme token, as it means that the amount of tokens returned to exchanges for sale is substantially lower than the amount moved out of supported exchanges for buying purposes.

Apparently, this implies that more buyers have flooded the Shiba Inu trading platform over the last day, fading off existing sell pressure while driving its price toward further upward moves.

The bullish reversal in Shiba Inu exchange activity has come amid a broader crypto market rally after major crypto assets including Bitcoin and XRP suddenly flipped into the green, recording price increases of over 15% over the last day.

Shiba Inu also joined the trend, surging massively from its previous low to reclaim $0.000005 after multiple weeks of trading significantly lower. This marks a price increase of 9.87% over the last 24 hours.

Market participants believe $SHIB could eventually reclaim its multi-month high of $0.000006 in August if momentum persists.

XRP Rockets 20% This Week, but a Powerful Bullish Breakout Depends on These EMAs
$XRP has embarked on an impressive recovery push, but it must first close above the 20- and 50-week EMAs to confirm a bullish breakout.
The broader crypto market has seen renewed buying pressure, with the global crypto market (TOTAL) adding over $229 billion in less than two days. As a result, the global crypto market cap has recently hit a 3-month peak of $2.42 trillion.
$XRP has since taken advantage of this upward push, posting its own gains and outperforming the broader market. After starting the week slow, $XRP has turned its fortunes around, up 20% this week at press time.
However, market data indicates that $XRP remains in a bearish position despite the recent rebound surge. Essentially, the crypto asset still has multiple roadblocks to conquer before it can confirm a shift in market structure from bearish to bullish.
$XRP Must Close Above Key Weekly EMAs
Two of these roadblocks involve the 20-week and 50-week exponential moving averages (EMAs). While $XRP has gained more than 20% since the start of the week, its price at $1.1912 remains below these two moving averages, confirming that bears still maintain control in the mid-term.
At press time, the 20-week EMA stands at $1.2264, while the 50-week EMA holds around $1.5330. The last time $XRP traded around the $1.22 region was in mid-June, during a drop from a $1.29 high. Meanwhile, the token last saw $1.53 in May, three months ago.
Historical data shows that $XRP must first close a weekly candlestick above these EMAs before the market can confirm a bullish shift. Notably, previous price surges have always occurred on the back of a close above these moving averages.
For instance, in 2023, $XRP was able to flip its momentum bullish after prices closed above the 20 and 50-week EMAs in May. 

XRP Rockets 20% This Week, but a Powerful Bullish

If the breakout survives the retest with volume, that’s where I’d consider the trade. $BTW needs buyers to prove that current strength can become genuine structure. I want a higher low followed by a decisive resistance reclaim rather than entering during the first impulse. If the retest holds cleanly, that’s my trigger.
