U.S. Leveraged ETF Assets Reach Historic High of $198 Billion as Investor Leverage Hits Record Level

On June 24, the size of U.S. leveraged ETFs is growing at a record pace, with investor leverage simultaneously at record highs. Currently, the assets under management for the 3x long NASDAQ-100 ETF TQQQ have risen to approximately $40 billion, nearing historical highs. Meanwhile, the assets under management for the 3x long semiconductor ETF SOXL have reached a historic high of $34 billion. Since April, SOXL's asset size has increased more than threefold, while TQQQ's assets have nearly doubled. In comparison, the 2x long NASDAQ-100 ETF QLD has grown by $7 billion during the same period, an increase of 88%, approaching a historical high of nearly $15 billion. As a result, the total assets under management for U.S. leveraged ETFs have reached a historic high of $198 billion, reflecting a 55% increase during the same period.
