Altcoin supply Is tightening – Traders, is the altseason narrative back?Altcoins have struggled to establish a clear trend as liquidity remains concentrated in a class of assets. While some tokens continue facing profit-taking and exchange inflows, others are beginning to show signs of supply tightening.

Against this backdrop, Gate’s net flow data indicates that there is selective capital rotation in the altcoin sector rather than a complete exit from the space. Between late 2025 and mid-June 2026, numerous asset classes demonstrated consistent withdrawal-dominant behavior.

When withdrawals occur for extended periods of time, it typically signals investor activity. The nature of this investor activity can vary and may include either selling or simply moving coins.As these outflows continued, the accumulation signals began to grow stronger. On the flip side, Ethereum [ETH], Chainlink [LINK], Uniswap [UNI], and 1Inch [1INCH] were exhibiting higher deposit activity vs. withdrawals.

Therefore, capital appears to be rotating toward selected altcoins rather than supporting the market uniformly. If broader conditions improve, assets already showing sustained outflows could be better positioned to attract speculative demand.

Altcoins show signs of recovery
As capital rotates toward specific altcoins, the decreasing supplies of exchanges have begun to show similar signs of this transition within the broader market.

The Altcoin Cycle Signal has now reached Altcoin Season at 86. This was the highest number it had been since late 2022. Yet, early in 2024 and through early 2025, the signal had mostly stayed under the critical 50 threshold, further indicating that markets were dominated by Bitcoin [

South Korea deepens CBDC push – All about the new phase of ‘Project Hangang’South Korea’s CBDC initiative, Project Hangang, is set to advance to a more advanced stage. According to a recent report from ETNews Korean Edition, the country’s existing mobile banking and account infrastructure is being integrated with the digital currency system.

The plan calls for participating banks to issue deposit tokens that are secured by a Bank of Korea’s wholesale CBDC.

Instead of directly holding the digital currency issued by the central bank, customers will use these deposit tokens through e-wallets integrated into their banking applications.

Details of South Korea’s new CBDC phase
In the new phase of the South Korean CBDC project, commercial banks will build the infrastructure required to integrate digital currency into their existing banking systems, moving beyond simple payment trials.

This includes developing digital voucher systems, e-wallets, and blockchain-based platforms that can be directly integrated with accounting, interest calculations, transfers, withdrawals, and other crucial banking functions.

Nevertheless, the program does not yet represent a national CBDC rollout. Instead, it is still a limited real-world experiment in which commercial banks test the use of deposit tokens backed by the central bank’s CBDC.

This is usually done among particular participants and locations, laying the groundwork for broader adoption in the future.For those unaware, during the first phase, the Bank of Korea provided wholesale CBDCs to participating banks. During that period, these banks issued deposit tokens to clients through e-wallets they supplied for limited payment trials.

Cody Carbone, CEO of the cryptocurrency advocacy group The Digital Chamber, received a largely muted response to his testimony at a Senate Banking Committee hearing on affordability.

In a Tuesday hearing titled The Affordability Agenda, Carbone said that the digital asset industry could help solve affordability problems in the United States, including through faster and cheaper transactions, putting “competitive pressure” on existing payment systems, and reducing barriers to “owning and transferring assets.”

However, the majority of lawmakers present did not question Carbone directly or inquire about digital assets, with the exception of Indiana Senator Tim Banks and Louisiana Senator John Kennedy. Banks asked the Digital Chamber CEO about the costs related to foreign remittances compared to US dollar-pegged stablecoins, while Kennedy largely dismissed Carbone’s testimony.

“Mr. Carbone, you seem to be here to promote cryptocurrency,” said Kennedy. “I love cryptocurrency, but I don't think that's the problem with our economy.”

Carbone’s remarks centered around the US Senate moving forward on the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act, which the banking committee advanced in May.
