Analysts are evaluating a technical accumulation range for the token located between $0.55 and $0.65.

In the last 24 hours, $SUI volume recorded a significant surge, reaching $373.5 million daily, according to transaction data on exchanges. This operational metric temporarily positions the Move-language-based blockchain above established Layer-1 (L1) competitors such as Avalanche (AVAX), TON, Aptos, and Polygon.

The increase in trading shows that institutional and retail traders maintain active participation around the Mysten Labs token. However, order book readings suggest that this trading volume has been largely driven by position liquidations and the execution of sell orders. In the L1 blockchain environment, high volume can manifest during both bullish accumulation phases and periods of severe correction.

According to technical market reports, the asset failed to defend the critical support level of $0.80, a trading zone that had acted as a short-term containment base in previous weeks. The loss of this psychological barrier has caused immediate price control to shift to the sellers’ side. Analytical data from exchanges indicates that the buyers’ inability to absorb supply at that point weakens the coin’s technical structure in the immediate horizon.

While short-term sentiment weakened, the largest BTC holders appeared unfazed, using the decline as a buying opportunity.

Whale Accumulation Returns
Bitcoin whales holding at least 1,000 BTC have increased their combined holdings to 7.17 million BTC, according to Santiment’s latest findings. This is the highest level recorded since March 14. These large holders now control 35.82% of Bitcoin’s available supply, while the number of wallets holding at least 1,000 BTC stands at 2,044.

Additionally, crypto analyst Darkfost revealed that addresses holding more than 1 BTC have increased their combined holdings to a new all-time high of over 16.8 million BTC. The total supply held by this group continues to rise.

Darkfost explained that this trend could be linked to Bitcoin’s gradual institutionalization, although he stressed that such a development should be viewed from a long-term perspective.

Retail investors are also showing signs of renewed accumulation, but at a slower pace. This group is currently estimated to hold around 1.7 million BTC, which remains below the peak recorded in December 2023. The analyst went on to add that some retail participants may have taken profits during previous rallies, while others could have shifted their exposure to Bitcoin exchange-traded funds, which are easier to manage.

Despite these differences, both large holders and retail investors appear to be increasingly viewing the current market environment as an opportunity to accumulate Bitcoin.

What’s next for ASTER?

On the 12-hour price charts, ASTER momentum was bearish, meaning that short-sellers still had market dominance.

However, dragging the price 24% lower, ASTER was close to its June support level of $0.60. If the broader correction deepens, then an extended pullback to $0.55 couldn’t be overruled. 
Hence, the $0.55 and $0.60 could act as key supports in case of a potential relief in the near term.  

That said, if a relief rally ensues, the immediate upside target would be the 200-day MA (Moving Average, blue) currently at $0.70. That would imply a 16% upside potential, especially if the 5B ASTER token burn program kicks off.
