On April 20, the SEC, Atkins, alongside supportive lawmakers and fellow regulators, cast the milestone as reflecting a year shaped by regulatory clarity, stronger U.S. capital markets, and support for innovation, including crypto.

The SEC detailed that Atkins rang the NYSE opening bell to mark his one-year anniversary as chairman. The agency emphasized a shift toward regulatory clarity and a less enforcement-driven approach to crypto and other emerging technologies, while Atkins described the period as a “historic first year” focused on returning the SEC to its core mission of investor protection, orderly markets, and capital formation.


Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chair Mike Selig stated that the SEC had “ended regulation by enforcement” and supported “innovative technologies like crypto,” while pointing to closer coordination between the CFTC and SEC. That signals clearer operating conditions for digital asset firms in the U.S., as policymakers continue emphasizing innovation, competitiveness, and regulatory alignment.

Ethereum Hits a Short Term Decision Zone Inside Ascending Channel

Ethereum is trading near the lower boundary of an ascending channel on the 3 hour chart, according to a setup shared by X user Elja. The pattern has guided price higher since late March, with repeated rebounds from support and multiple rejections near the upper trendline. Now, $ETH is testing the structure again, making this area important for its next short term move.

The chart shows a rising channel with clear touches on both the upper and lower boundaries. That usually points to an orderly uptrend, but it also means support must keep holding to preserve the pattern. At the moment, price has pulled back toward the lower side of the channel after failing to stay near the recent highs around the mid $2,400 area.

Elja’s main point is that this channel could decide whether Ethereum recovers or breaks down next. If $ETH holds the lower trendline, the chart suggests a bounce could follow and push price back toward the upper boundary of the range. That would keep the broader short term structure intact and support another recovery attempt.

However, the chart also outlines a bearish alternative. If Ethereum breaks below the lower channel support, the move could open the way for a deeper drop toward lower support levels. In that case, the channel would stop acting as a guide for the uptrend and instead become a failed structure.

The analysis published by risk management company Llamarisk and Aave service provider co-authors explained that the attack occurred at 17:35 UTC in Ethereum block 24,908,285. The Unichain-to-Ethereum route was configured as a 1-of-1 DVN path, meaning a single verifier could attest an inbound packet without any corresponding outbound action, according to the report.

Llamarisk authors said the attacker forged a packet that was verified, committed, and delivered on Ethereum, releasing 116,500 rsETH from the adapter, the Aave report notes. The adapter balance fell from 116,723 rsETH to 223 rsETH in a single block. The attacker fanned the stolen rsETH from one intake wallet across seven branch addresses. Of the 116,500 rsETH received, 89,567 were deposited into Aave V3 markets on Ethereum and Arbitrum as collateral.
