Schools were closed, there was a rapid switch to online learning and exams were cancelled. This hindered young people’s ability to acquire essential knowledge, skills and qualifications.This aggravated existing educational gaps, particularly between students from different backgrounds, and those with and without reliable digital access and learning support.The cancellation of internships and work placements – vital for practical experience – left many with a gap in their skills. This may have increased the pressure to undertake unpaid work for employability.Young people are heavily concentrated in precarious, in-person employment sectors such as hospitality and retail. These jobs are characterised by temporary contracts, low wages and limited benefits.This instability made them acutely vulnerable during the pandemic. Amid the growing recognition of the blockchain sector, the Ethereum network continues to be at the forefront of the growth, securing more user activity than most networks. Validator Distribution Strength Puts Ethereum On Top

The Ethereum network has emerged with another reason why it is considered the leading blockchain across the entire cryptocurrency sector. After a wave of demand, a significant milestone has now been reached in the evolution of Ethereum, putting the network in the spotlight once again.

In a report on the social media platform X, Everstake, a leader in global non-custodial staking infrastructure provider, revealed that the ETH network has emerged as the top blockchain in validator distribution. With validation authority distributed more fairly across participants rather than being concentrated among a few entities, this development highlights an increasing degree of decentralization.

As seen in the chart shared by Everstake, the total number of validators on the network is approximately 921,500. The ETH network is exceptionally leading in this context, with Cardano, which comes in the second position, recording a total of just 2,900 validators.

The Catalysts Behind BTC's ResurgenceCommenting on the market reaction, Matt Mena, senior crypto research strategist at 21Shares, told Bloomberg that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is the "risk-on signal" global markets have been waiting for. In his view, removing what he described as one of the most significant geopolitical choke points has helped "uncork" a larger wave of liquidity and investor confidence, supporting demand across risk assets-including digital currencies. One notable driver is institutional buying: Strategy (previously MicroStrategy) has acquired $2.6 billion in Bitcoin during the past two weeks. According to Bohan Jiang, a senior derivatives trader at FalconX, this has helped "underpin" the market, providing additional support as prices rebound. Still, investors are now looking for clarity on how far the rally can extend. What's Next For Bitcoin? Market analyst Ali Martinez pointed to a key technical level that Bitcoin has repeatedly struggled with:

A bitcoin mining pool built to reject both the industrial pay-per-share model and the pure lottery approach has now proved its design works. Twice.

Upstart mining pool Parasite Pool mined block 945,601 on Friday morning, its second block since launching in April 2025 and roughly 48 days after the pool's first block at #938,713 in late February.
The block carried 7,398 transactions and 0.002 $BTC in fees, landing with bitcoin trading at $76,21.

Market Updates: Circle Sued Over $280M Drift Exploit, Grinex Halts Trading After $13.7M Hack, Public Miners Dump 32K Bitcoin in Q1
A series of major developments has unsettled the crypto sector today, including legal action against Circle Internet Group, a fresh exchange hack, record Bitcoin sales by miners, and the launch of spot crypto trading services by leading brokerage Charles Schwab.

To begin with, Circle Internet Group faces a class action arising from a major breach involving Drift Protocol. The lawsuit, filed in a Massachusetts federal court by investor Joshua McCollum, represents more than 100 affected participants.
The case centers on an April 1 breach that resulted in approximately $280 million in losses. According to the complaint, attackers transferred roughly $230 million in USDC across blockchains over several hours. These transactions allegedly used Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) to route funds from Solana to Ethereum without interruption.

Specifically, the filing argues that Circle failed to take timely action to halt the transfers. It accuses the company of negligence and facilitating wrongful conversion. The case is being pursued by Mira Gibb, with damages to be determined at trial.

In the aftermath, Drift Protocol is expected to overhaul its settlement system, replacing USDC with USD upon resumption of operations.

At the same time, security concerns have resurfaced with a major breach at Grinex. The exchange has halted trading after a cyberattack resulted in losses exceeding 1 billion rubles (about $13.7 million).

Grinex, registered in Kyrgyzstan but closely tied to Russia’s crypto ecosystem, reported that 54 wallets were compromised. The company described the attack as highly sophisticated, raising the possibility of involvement by well-resourced or state-linked actors.
