Drift Protocol has announced a collaboration with Tether (USDT) and other partners totaling nearly $150 million to fund user recovery and a protocol relaunch following its April 1 exploit on Solana (SOL). The package includes a $100 million revenue-linked credit facility, an ecosystem grant, and loans to designated market makers. USDT will serve as the settlement asset when the protocol relaunches. Recovery Pool and Token for Impacted Users The funds, out of which $127.5 million is reportedly from Tether, will support a dedicated user recovery pool fed by exchange revenue and committed support capital. Drift stated that any assets recovered through ongoing law enforcement and blockchain forensics efforts will also flow into the pool. To distribute recovery assets, Drift will issue a new transferable token to users affected by the April 1 exploit. The team said additional details on token mechanics will follow in the near term. The April 1 attack drained between $270 million and $285 million from Drift’s vaults. Blockchain analytics firm Elliptic attributed the operation to North Korean state-linked actors who spent six months infiltrating the protocol’s inner circle. Attackers posed as a quantitative trading firm, built trust at conferences, and compromised devices through a malicious TestFlight app and a VSCode vulnerability. They then manipulated Drift’s multisig approvals using Solana’s durable nonces feature to drain core vaults holding USDC, SOL, and JLP tokens. The incident slashed Drift’s total value locked from $550 million to roughly $230 million. The Drift (DRIFT) token dropped over 30% in the immediate aftermath. Bitcoin Price Analysis: Here’s Why the Next Few Days Will Be Crucial for BTC



Bitcoin is trading around $74.7k, holding near its highest levels since the February breakdown, as the recovery momentum built over the past two weeks continues to develop.

The move is encouraging, but $BTC now stands at one of the most technically important junctures of the entire correction, near the confluence of the descending channel’s upper boundary and the 100-day moving average, two levels that have defined the bearish structure for months.

Bitcoin Price Analysis: The Daily Chart

For the first time in this correction cycle, $BTC appears to be pressing a genuine breakout attempt above the descending channel, with the price now breaking above the upper boundary near $74k–$75k alongside the declining 100-day MA nearby. The RSI has also climbed into the high-60s, which is the strongest daily momentum reading since before the February crash, and is lending some credibility to the attempt, while also not showing overbought signals.

Whether this becomes a confirmed breakout or another failed one depends on how the price behaves over the next few daily closes. A sustained close above the channel and the $75k–$80k resistance band would be a structural shift of real significance, and would open a path toward $88k–$90k, where the 200-day MA awaits. On the downside, $60k–$62k is the key support that buyers should defend at all costs if the breakout fails.

The price has now risen above the midline and is attempting to break above the $74-$76k resistance zone. Looking at the daily chart, CHZ’s 17.11% gain appears to have pushed the asset close to a breakout from a bullish price action pattern. According to the chart, the asset has formed a textbook-style inverted head and shoulders pattern, with the price approaching a breakout above the neckline at the $0.0445 level.

However, the $0.0445 level has a strong history of downward price reversals since the beginning of February 2026, with the price reversing more than four times from this level.

Based on past performance, if CHZ’s upward momentum sustains and it breaks out above the $0.0445 neckline, it could witness a significant 30% price surge, potentially reaching the $0.05786 level. However, a reversal remains possible if the price fails to breach this key level.

Despite the notable jump in CHZ’s price, the indicator that measures directional strength, the Average Directional Index (ADX), stood at 16.45 as of writing, below the key threshold of 25, indicating weak trend strength in the asset.

Notably, a crypto analyst noted that CHZ has broken out of a five‑year descending trendline resistance, with the current structure confirming the breakout. The analyst predicts this move could drive a tenfold rally, pushing the price back to and above $0.40.
