US spot Bitcoin ETF products drew $622.75 million last week, their sixth straight week of net inflows. Summary SoSoValue data for the week of May 4 to 8 shows $622.75 million in total net inflows across US spot Bitcoin ETF products. BlackRock’s IBIT attracted $596 million during the week, bringing its cumulative total to $66.1 billion. The six-week streak has pulled nearly $3.4 billion into US Bitcoin ETF products, the longest run since July 2025. US spot Bitcoin ETF products drew $622.75 million in net inflows during the week of May 4 to 8, extending the streak to six consecutive weeks of positive flows. SoSoValue tracked the figures on May 11. BlackRock’s IBIT dominated the period with $596 million in net inflows. Grayscale’s GBTC was the notable exception, posting $62 million in net outflows over the same stretch. IBIT’s cumulative total now stands at $66.1 billion. Six weeks and what comes next The current run is the longest inflow streak for US spot Bitcoin ETF products since seven consecutive weeks between June and July 2025. Over the six weeks starting April 2, the funds have together absorbed nearly $3.4 billion in fresh capital. Last week’s $622.75 million was the second-highest total of the streak. Bitcoin traded between $80,000 and $82,000 during the period before stabilising near $80,800 by the weekend. Spot Ethereum ETFs drew $70.49 million over the same week, while spot Solana ETFs took in $39.23 million and spot XRP ETFs attracted $34.21 million. Bloomberg senior commodities strategist Mike McGlone stated that the market is divided, focusing on the macroeconomic picture. On one side are record profits from giant corporations and stock market rallies, and on the other are consumers grappling with a debt crisis. McGlone noted, “There is no way out of this debt crisis other than hypergrowth.” He added that Bitcoin retains the potential to be a safe haven amidst this macroeconomic uncertainty, but global liquidity conditions need to be closely monitored.

CryptoQuant rejects dump fears on Bitcoin whaleA Bitcoin whale dormant since 2013 moved $40 million in $BTC on May 10, with analysts ruling out an exchange dump.

A long-dormant Bitcoin whale wallet moved about $40 million in $BTC on Sunday after more than 12 years of silence. Whale Alert detected the transfer at 19:16 UTC, with funds moving to a new address not associated with any known exchange.

The wallet was created on November 27, 2013, and had remained untouched ever since. Bitcoin traded at roughly $923 when the coins were originally received, making the 500 $BTC stash worth about $461,500 at the time. At current prices, that position has risen approximately 87-fold.

Why analysts are not sounding the alarm

CryptoQuant’s Ki Young Ju called it on May 10: “Classic OTC prep, not dump pressure, low fees and non-CEX destination scream institutional.” The transfer fee was just 0.0001 $BTC, worth roughly $8 at current prices, a level well below typical exchange inflow transactions.

No spike in large-scale selling pressure was observed after the transfer became public. Blockchain data has not shown the 500 $BTC entering any known exchange deposit address. A comparable event in March 2026 saw a wallet dormant since 2012 move 2,100 $BTC worth $147 million with no confirmed exchange inflow.

ABA CEO Urges Banks To Block Stablecoin Rewards

On Sunday, the American Bankers Association (ABA)’s CEO, Rob Nichols, sent a letter urging bank executives to push lawmakers to revisit the language on the crypto market structure bill, known as the CLARITY Act, ahead of its Thursday markup.

Nichols affirmed that he was “reaching out to make every bank leader in this country aware of an urgent advocacy fight that requires your immediate engagement,” adding that he wants Congress to establish digital asset rules and responsible guardrails for the crypto industry.

However, he considers that the latest version of the bill “still does not adequately prevent crypto companies from offering interest-like rewards on payment stablecoins,” which would “unnecessarily incentivize the flight of bank deposits into payment stablecoins, putting both economic growth and financial stability at risk.”

“We believe the committee members may not be fully aware of the risks to the economy posed by the stablecoin loophole. Your immediate engagement can make a difference,” Nichols’ letter read.

For context, the latest version of the CLARITY Act prohibits any activity “economically or functionally equivalent to the payment of interest or yield on an interest-bearing bank deposit” on payment stablecoins.

Nonetheless, the text allows for payment of rewards tied to bona fide activities, including staking, transaction activity, or liquidity provision, aiming to promote a “buy and user” approach.
