The Financial Stability Board (FSB) is warning that global markets could be heading toward a chain reaction in which tighter funding, war-driven volatility, and deepening cracks in non-bank finance converge into what its chair calls a possible “double or triple whammy” for financial stability.

In a letter sent ahead of the April 16 G20 meeting, FSB Chair Andrew Bailey laid out a scenario in which several fragile parts of the financial system crack at the same time rather than one by one.

Bailey, who also serves as governor of the Bank of England, said the Middle East conflict has already increased energy prices and government bond yields, and that these shocks could collide with stretched asset valuations, concentrated leverage in the non-bank financial sector, and growing anxiety over private-credit pricing.

He identified three areas that require heightened monitoring: sovereign bond markets, asset valuations, and private credit.

Stripe is integrating stablecoins and blockchain across its core payments stack in a bid to become an "AWS for money" and speed up global money movement, said Adrien Duchâteau, the firm's head of crypto GTM.

The company, which processes nearly $2 trillion in payments annually, is using acquisitions like Bridge and Privy and a new blockchain called Tempo to cut settlement times from days to near-instant.

Stripe aims to make it seamless for users to move between traditional banking rails and crypto, with particular focus on emerging markets where stablecoins and DeFi can offer services that conventional banks struggle to provide, Duchâteau said.

Global payments giant Stripe is building what it calls the "AWS for money," and crypto tech is at the center of that plan.

Bitcoin retakes $78,000 as Trump declares Hormuz 'open and ready for business'

The bitcoin move spread to other major cryptocurrencies, lifting the total market cap back above $2.7 trillion.

Despite the rally, sentiment remains cautious, with derivatives markets suggesting traders are not fully convinced the move will hold.

Bitcoin jumped to as high as $78,100 on Friday after U.S. President Donald Trump said the Strait of Hormuz was "completely open and ready for business," echoing earlier comments from Iran's foreign minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi that commercial vessel passage had resumed under a ceasefire.

The move marks a roughly two-and-a-half-month high for bitcoin, which last traded above $78,000 before sliding from about $90,000 to $60,000 in early February. By mid-morning, BTC began to settle at around $77,700.

Other major cryptocurrencies saw slightly higher gains, with Ethereum (ETH), XRP (XRP), and Dogecoin (DOGE) all gaining more than 5% in the last 24 hours, according to The Block's crypto price data, helping to lift the total crypto market cap back over the $2.7 trillion mark.

Equities also pushed higher, with the S&P 500 hitting a fresh high near 7,125, while oil futures fell sharply from around $91 at Thursday’s close to under $81 this morning.

That said, the reopening is tied to a 10-day ceasefire, and Trump said a U.S. naval blockade targeting Iran would remain in place, causing some uncertainty around how "open" the strait will be in practice. In a follow-up post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that "Iran has agreed to never close the Strait of Hormuz again."

TRX price structure has shifted from a downtrend into a recovery phase. After forming a double bottom near $0.27–$0.28, the price established a strong demand base, preventing further downside. The key structural shift came with a breakout above the descending trendline, signaling weakening selling pressure.

Since the breakout, TRX has not shown aggressive upside but instead continues to form higher lows above $0.30–$0.31, reflecting controlled accumulation. This type of movement indicates sustained buying rather than speculative spikes. Short-term EMAs are gradually trending upward, supporting the current structure. As long as TRX holds above the breakout zone, the trend remains intact.

On the upside, immediate resistance lies near $0.34–$0.35, and a sustained move above this range could open the path toward $0.38, the next major supply zone. A breakdown below $0.30 would weaken the bullish structure and signal loss of momentum.
