Bitcoin dips, oil rises as Trump addresses nation on war in Iran


Crude oil rose to over $100 a barrel while Bitcoin fell 2% after a national address by US President Donald Trump on the conflict in Iran, where he vowed to hit Iran "extremely hard" over the next few weeks.

Speaking at the White House on Wednesday during an address to the nation, Trump said the US military is "very close" to finishing "Operation Epic Fury," claiming to have wiped out Iran's nuclear and naval capabilities while also significantly hampering its drones, missiles and weapon factories.

“I can say tonight that we are on track to complete all of America's military objectives shortly. Very shortly, we are going to hit them extremely hard over the next 2 to 3 weeks.”

Stocks, crude oil, and crypto prices have been impacted by conflict in the Middle East over the last few months. Oil prices eased on Tuesday after Trump said the war would be wrapping up in the next few weeks, though his latest speech has seen it rise again.

At the time of writing, the price of crude oil has spiked back above $100 a barrel to $103.59 per barrel. Meanwhile, Bitcoin dipped by around 1% over the course of the speech and has since fallen further to $66,904.

However, Trump also said discussions are ongoing. Both sides have made key demands for ending the conflict, with the US pushing for Iran to dismantle its nuclear programs, open up commercial shipping channels and stop regional support for proxy groups.

Iran wants a permanent end to the war, compensation for damages and an end to US military presence in the region, among other demands.

"The new group is less radical and much more reasonable. Yet, if during this period of time no deal is made, we have our eyes on key targets."

Luxor Launches ‘Commander’ Fleet Management Software to Optimize Bitcoin Mining Operations
Luxor Technology Corporation has unveiled Commander, a new fleet management and profitability optimization platform designed to give Bitcoin mining operators a unified control layer across their entire infrastructure.

The Seattle-based Bitcoin mining software firm says Commander is built to consolidate fleet operations, energy management, and profitability optimization into a single system within its broader ecosystem, according to a note shared with Bitcoin Magazine.

Luxor, which already manages more than 1 gigawatt of Bitcoin mining and data center compute, positions Commander as a major step toward what it calls a “full-stack mining infrastructure,” integrating mining pool services, firmware, energy tools, derivatives, and fleet management under one platform.

At its core, Commander provides real-time fleet monitoring, bulk remote command execution, and automated optimization of mining profitability.

The system is connected to live hashrate and power markets through Luxor’s existing infrastructure, enabling operators to respond dynamically to changing market conditions.

Adjusted bitcoin mining based on real-time inputs

A key feature of the launch is Intelligent Miner, an automated optimization layer that adjusts mining operations based on real-time inputs.

When connected across Luxor Pool, energy services, and Commander, the system evaluates hashrate pricing and electricity costs every five minutes, then dynamically modifies miner power settings based on fleet composition and market conditions.

According to internal benchmarking shared by Luxor, Intelligent Miner can deliver between 8% and 14% higher profitability compared to traditional binary curtailment strategies, which simply switch machines on or off without finer control over power usage.

The remarks were delivered during Hoskinson’s most recent weekly rollup on YouTube, where he laid out what he believes is a deeper issue surrounding the bill and how it could change competition across the crypto sector.

Hoskinson Accuses Ripple Of Playing Dirty
According to Charles Hoskinson, the CLARITY Act, in its current form, was crafted with Ripple’s fingerprints on it. He is of the notion that the bill’s structure would classify most digital assets as securities by default, forcing projects to fight their way out of that designation through a regulatory process he warned the SEC could easily weaponize. “They’re trying to pass a bill that hurts the entire ecosystem while they get protected,” he said.

As noted by Hoskinson, if the CLARITY Act is passed, projects would need to prove otherwise, effectively placing the burden of defense on developers and startups from the outset.

Open-source contributors could face legal risks even when they are not directly responsible for how their code is used. He pointed to the legal exposure faced by developers connected to Tornado Cash as an example of what could become standard practice if the CLARITY Act passes in its current form.

He also flagged the removal of existing protections for DeFi developers as a provision that would send a chilling signal across the entire community of crypto developers.
