The global banking giant has successfully completed a pilot project centered around its Tokenised Deposit Service (TDS) on the Canton [CC] network. What stands out here is that these tokenised deposits are not stablecoins. 

Instead, they represent traditional cash converted into a digital format. According to AMBCrypto, understanding this distinction is key to grasping why HSBC’s move matters. For starters, the pilot marks the first time the bank deployed its TDS on blockchain, setting a benchmark for other financial institutions.

Former US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chair Chris Giancarlo has announced that he is stepping away from his legal career to focus entirely on advising cryptocurrency and fintech companies.

Giancarlo, widely known as “Crypto Dad” for his early support of digital assets, revealed that he is leaving the law firm Willkie Farr and retiring from legal practice. He plans to dedicate his time to advising founders, CEOs, and boards in the fintech and crypto space, as well as contributing to public policy discussions and nonprofit initiatives.

During his time as CFTC Chair between 2017 and 2018, Giancarlo played a key role in overseeing the launch of the first Bitcoin futures markets in the United States. His supportive stance toward crypto innovation earned him strong recognition within the industry.

Even after leaving his regulatory role, Giancarlo has remained active in shaping crypto policy and advising companies such as Sygnum on regulatory strategy and global partnerships.

He has also expressed confidence that US regulators like the CFTC and SEC can still bring clarity to the crypto market, even if major legislative efforts face delays. However, he noted that regulatory uncertainty could discourage traditional banks from fully engaging with the crypto sector.

Giancarlo emphasized that digital assets represent the future of financial infrastructure and that it is important for major financial institutions to adapt and modernize.

His move reflects a broader trend of former regulators transitioning into the crypto industry, further strengthening the connection between traditional finance and digital assets.

With safer assets paying more, institutional demand for risk assets like Bitcoin naturally weakens.
As Ecoinometrics noted, without a liquidity tailwind, Bitcoin struggles to sustain upward momentum.
Market structure keeps capping rallies
Beyond macro factors, trader behavior is also reinforcing resistance levels.
Analysts point out a repeated pattern:
Long positions decrease when price approaches resistance
Short positions increase at the same levels
Profit-taking intensifies on each rally
This creates a self-reinforcing ceiling, with Bitcoin repeatedly failing to break above the ~$74K–$75K zone.
Is momentum returning?
There are early signs of stabilization.
On-chain analyst Willy Woo recently noted that:
Capital flows into BTC have turned positive for the first time since January
Liquidity conditions are slowly improving

This suggests the market may be transitioning from contraction to stabilization—but not yet expansion.

Despite current weakness, $80,000 is emerging as a critical threshold. A clean breakout above it would likely signal a return of stronger trend conditions.
Until then, Bitcoin appears to be in a phase of:

Bottom line

Tempo — это совместимый с Ethereum уровень 1, созданный для высокопроизводительных платежей и расчетов с использованием стейблкоинов, особенно между крупными учреждениями.
