Bitcoin Price Surges 3% Past $82K as Senate Advances Clarity Act, STRC and SATA Fuel Bitcoin Credit Boom

Bitcoin price surged toward $82,000 as STRC’s Bitcoin buying cleared $1 billion in daily trading volume.
Bitcoin price extended its rebound on Thursday as a landmark U.S. crypto bill cleared a key Senate hurdle and Bitcoin‑linked credit products logged fresh milestones. Bitcoin price traded near $81,400 with intraday highs around $82,000, up more than 3% over the past 24 hours on more than $1 billion in spot trading volume.

The Senate Banking Committee advanced the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act on a 15–9 vote, with Sens. Ruben Gallego of Arizona and Angela Alsobrooks of Maryland joining all 13 Republicans. The bill, known as H.R. 3633, seeks a federal framework for digital asset trading, stablecoins and intermediaries, splitting oversight between the SEC and CFTC and setting registration, disclosure and compliance rules for exchanges, brokers and custodians.

Chair Tim Scott described the markup as a turning point after years in which crypto firms faced a “regulatory gray zone” under rules built for earlier markets, and framed the bill as a way to keep innovation inside the United States while tightening controls on criminal use of digital assets. Sen. Cynthia Lummis, who leads the committee’s digital assets panel, called the Clarity Act the hardest bill of her career and “a case of first impression” for fitting new software‑based assets into existing financial law.

Ranking Member Elizabeth Warren led the opposition and argued that the bill weakens securities protections, preempts state anti‑fraud rules and lets banks build large crypto exposures, which she linked to pre‑2008 risk patterns.

The legislation, passed on Friday, sets a framework for licensing, supervision, and consumer protection across the crypto sector, according to Reuters reporting. Poland faces a July deadline to implement MiCA or risk forcing domestic firms to halt crypto-asset services, according to the national financial watchdog.

The vote lands as prosecutors investigate the collapse of Zondacrypto, once the country’s largest exchange, where thousands of users remain unable to access funds. Authorities estimate losses at more than 350 million zlotys, about $96 million, turning the case into one of the most significant crypto failures in Central Europe.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk has linked the platform to alleged foreign influence, citing security service findings that point to Russian capital behind the exchange. He has described the company’s origins as opaque and raised concerns about its past sponsorship of events involving figures from the nationalist opposition. Moscow has denied any role in sabotage or covert activity across Europe.

Zondacrypto’s founder, Sylwester Suszek, has been missing since 2022. Polish media report that his successor, Przemyslaw Kral, resides in Israel, where he holds citizenship, a factor that may complicate any extradition effort.

Crypto analyst Jake Claver is again making bold predictions around XRP through what he calls the “Domino Theory.” In his latest video, Claver explained how a chain reaction involving oil prices, Japan, stablecoins, banks, and crypto markets could eventually trigger a major liquidity crisis, with XRP potentially becoming one of the biggest beneficiaries.

Domino 1: Oil Shock and Global Tension
According to Claver, the first domino starts with rising geopolitical tension involving Iran, Russia, China, and the Strait of Hormuz. He warned that any disruption to oil supply could push energy prices sharply higher and create fresh inflation pressure across global markets.

Japan is one of the biggest concerns in this scenario because it relies heavily on imported energy.

Domino 2: Japan’s Carry Trade Unwinds
Claver explained that investors have borrowed cheap Japanese yen for decades and invested that money into assets like stocks, bonds, Bitcoin, gold, and crypto.

If inflation forces the Bank of Japan to raise interest rates aggressively, those trades may quickly unwind. That would pull liquidity out of global markets and trigger heavy selling pressure across risk assets.

Domino 3: Banks, Bonds, and Stablecoins Face Stress
The theory also suggests that banks and bond markets could face serious pressure during a liquidity crunch. Claver pointed out that Japanese institutions hold massive amounts of U.S. Treasuries, while banks are already dealing with unrealized losses tied to bonds and commercial real estate.

He also raised concerns around Tether, saying stablecoins could come under pressure if investors begin redeeming funds aggressively during market panic.

Bitcoin ETFs and crypto exchanges could also struggle if liquidity dries up quickly.

The new feature uses Stratum V2 to enable miners at the pool engaging in their own block template construction to also handle the selection and inclusion of merge-mined block commitments from the Rootstock (RSK) sidechain as well.
Merge-mining is a process by which multiple blockchains can share, or “reuse”, the same POW from the same set of miners. One blockchain, the child chain, structures its block headers to include the headers of the parent chain, i.e. the hash of the child chain’s block header is actually included inside a parent chain block (usually in the coinbase transaction), and software for the child chain is aware of this, actually validating part of the parent chain’s blocks in the process of verifying the child chain’s blocks.
This allows miners of the parent chain to mine multiple blockchains at once by simply including blockheader commitments in their coinbase transaction, and then mining blocks for the parent blockchain. When one is found for the parent chain, one is found for all of the child chains as well.
