Breakout Brewing: Why $ETH’s Structure Signals Imminent Upside

Michaël van de Poppe, in a recent market update, suggested that $ETH is gearing up to follow Bitcoin’s upward path. The analyst, who has outlined his levels in Euros, highlighted a steady and controlled grind higher, with $ETH now closing in on a crucial breakout level around €2,070 ($2,430).

Price action has continued to test this resistance zone without a significant rejection. Such repeated attempts typically weaken a resistance level over time, as sell orders get absorbed and buyers gain confidence. With each retest, the likelihood of a breakout increases, pointing to a potential shift into a stronger bullish phase.

Beyond the immediate barrier, he identified €2,350 ($2,759) and €2,900 ($3,400) as the next key resistance zones to watch. These levels could act as interim checkpoints, but the overall trend suggests that momentum may not stall easily at the first hurdle.

A rejection around €2,350 would likely be considered a weak outcome, especially after nearly three months of consolidation below the current resistance band. According to different pundits, the flagship cryptocurrency’s latest rally above $79,000 was primarily driven by demand in the perpetual futures market rather than the spot market. Recent on-chain evaluation shows that the buying pressure on the Bitcoin derivatives side has yet to simmer down over the past few days.

BTC Net Taker Volume Surges To Around $145 Million
In an April 25th post on the X platform, pseudonymous analyst Darkfost revealed that the bulls have continued to dominate the Bitcoin perpetual futures market. This on-chain observation is based on a surge in the Net Taker Volume metric, which measures the difference between the volume of long (buy) and short (sell) orders in the derivatives market of a particular cryptocurrency.

The on-chain metric can be used to identify the market’s most dominant participant (buyers or sellers) at a given time. A positive Net Taker Volume metric indicates that buying volume exceeds selling volume, while a negative value suggests that sellers are overwhelming the buyers in the Bitcoin derivatives market.

Darkfost wrote on X:

Beyond simply showing whether buying or selling pressure is dominant, it also reflects the prevailing sentiment among traders.

Referencing CryptoQuant data, Darkfost revealed that the Net Taker Volume — smoothed over a month to show the real trend — stands at around $145 million. As the on-chain analyst highlighted, this metric has remained positive for nearly two months (since March 7).

Bitcoin (BTC) pushed past $78,500 on Monday and printed an 11-week high near $79,480 as buyers tested the $80,000 ceiling. Bulls are now eyeing $81,200, with $82,000 as the next major barrier above.

Price Action Above $78K
The world's largest cryptocurrency traded at $79,032 in early Asian hours, according to NewsBTC and LatestLY data feeds. The move follows a week of consistent gains.

Bitcoin found support near $77,000 before clearing the $78,000 mark. A high formed at $79,480, and the price then began to consolidate above the 23.6% Fibonacci level of the move from $77,145.

The pair now holds above its 100-hour simple moving average, with a bullish trend line offering support at $78,250.

ETF Inflows And Strategy Buying
Analysts credit the rally to a sixth straight session of net inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs and Strategy Inc.'s recent $2.54 billion BTC purchase. Short covering has added fuel.

Hourly MACD is gaining pace in bullish territory, while the RSI sits above 50. A daily close above $79,500 would open the path toward $81,200 and the $82,000 barrier.

Bitcoin spent much of early 2026 stuck between $60,000 and $75,000 after losing the $80,000 level in February. A brief reclaim of the 200-day exponential moving average in mid-March failed to hold, and BTC slipped below $75,000 in late March before staging the current recovery.

Ondo Finance adds proxy voting for holders of its $700 million tokenized equities
Ondo Finance is bringing tokenized equities closer to their traditional counterparts, offering investors a way to participate in corporate governance.

The feature, built with Broadridge Financial Solutions (BR), allows holders of more than 250 tokenized securities on Ondo's platform to review company filings and submit voting preferences through Broadridge’s ProxyVote system.

Investors can log in with crypto wallets, then access documents and governance tools typically reserved for brokerage accounts.

South Korea’s internet-only lender K bank has signed a strategic partnership with Ripple to test blockchain-based overseas remittances, marking another bank-facing expansion for Ripple’s payments infrastructure in Asia.

The agreement, announced Monday by K bank and first reported by The Korea Herald, was signed at the lender’s headquarters in Seoul. K bank CEO Choi Woo-hyung and Ripple Asia-Pacific Managing Director Fiona Murray attended the ceremony alongside officials from both companies.

K Bank Taps Ripple For Blockchain Remittance Tests
The partnership centers on whether Ripple’s global network and blockchain infrastructure can improve the speed, cost efficiency and transparency of K bank’s overseas remittance system. For Ripple, the deal extends its long-running institutional payments strategy into South Korea’s digital banking market. For K bank, it gives the lender a live testing track for blockchain-based cross-border settlement at a time when stablecoins and tokenized payment rails are becoming a more serious part of bank-level infrastructure discussions.

“We are pleased to partner with K bank, which has helped set the standard for digital banking in Korea and continues to drive innovation,” Murray said. “This partnership will help strengthen K bank’s competitiveness in blockchain-based overseas remittance technology,” Choi said.

K bank is already conducting a proof of concept with Ripple for overseas remittances. According to the bank, the first phase tested transfers through a separate application, while the second phase is now assessing transaction stability by virtually linking customer accounts with internal systems. That detail is notable because it suggests the project is moving beyond a standalone test environment and toward a model that examines how blockchain-based remittance infrastructure could interact with bank-side account architecture.
