On April 14, Goldman Sachs, the 7th-largest asset manager in the world with $3.65 trillion in Assets Under Supervision (AUM), filed for a Bitcoin ETF with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Goldman Sachs seeks Bitcoin ETF approval
Known as the Goldman Sachs Bitcoin Premium Income ETF, the product focuses on generating a stable yield to appeal to its older investors, hence the nickname “boomer candy.”

Rather than purchasing Bitcoin, Goldman Sachs will invest at least 80% of its assets in spot Bitcoin ETPs and other Bitcoin-linked products, such as options and indices. The fund will also generate monthly dividends for investors by selling Bitcoin call options. 

While these features guarantee a steady income and provide a cushion against market volatility, their downside is that they limit the profits the company could generate during a BTC rally.

Following a typical 75-day SEC review period, analysts estimate the ETF could launch in late June 2026.

Within 72 hours, several on-chain metrics flagged as red drivers have flipped, fueling the market resurgence. At the time of writing, Bitcoin trades under $75,000 with bulls attempting to break the mark. The Bull Score Index has pumped new momentum to traders looking to steer Bitcoin's course. After months in the red zone, the metric is now at the highest level since October 2025. Within 12 hours, it surged above 40, entering neutral territory. On-chain analysts explained the possible implications when viewed in a broader context. The BSI coincides with a price uptick above $74,000, pointing to a gradual improvement in trading conditions. In October, Bitcoin was relatively bullish as investors ramped up assets for crypto treasuries and other offerings. This is a stark contrast to present conditions, as the metric crept above 40 once more. Bulls opine a gradual recovery following weak momentum and risks that liquidate retail and institutional traders. While in neutral levels and different from the Q4 2025 uptick, the charts don't show clear signs of weakness. In addition to the BSI metric, other on-chain factors have supported a price rebound over the past few months. Bitcoin trading volume has constantly exceeded the altcoin trading volume threshold for two months. Furthermore, short-term holders might be selling into the top crypto rise, allowing larger holders to pick up assets toward long-term gains. Historically, a crypto rebound has been driven by multiple strategies at different investor levels. Ripple has struck a new partnership with Kyobo Life Insurance to explore what it says would be Korea’s first tokenized government bond settlement workflow on blockchain, extending the company’s institutional push in Asia into the country’s insurance sector.

The partnership is built around Ripple Custody, which will be used to hold, transfer, and settle tokenized government bond transactions within a regulated institutional framework. The firm said the setup is designed to replace fragmented, manual settlement processes with on-chain execution, potentially compressing the standard two-day settlement cycle into near real-time.

Ripple Signs First Tier-1 Korean Insurer for Custody Push
Kyobo, one of Korea’s largest and most established life insurers, will work with Ripple to assess both the technical and regulatory feasibility of tokenized Treasury settlement within Korea’s financial system. The custody layer sits at the center of that effort. Ripple described Ripple Custody as a bank-grade, fully integrated platform built for regulated financial institutions, supporting the secure transfer, settlement, and management of digital assets.

Notably, the announcement positions custody not as a standalone product, but as the first layer of a broader institutional stack that could later expand into tokenization, payments, liquidity, and treasury management. In other words, the bond-settlement pilot is being presented as infrastructure, not a one-off proof of concept.

Ripple also tied the partnership to a larger modernization argument around government bond markets. By settling transactions simultaneously on-chain, the companies say institutions could reduce counterparty risk and improve capital efficiency.
