Highest Unrealized BTC Profits Since June 2025:

Profit-Taking Pressure Predicted by CryptoQuant Bitcoin holders are currently sitting on the highest unrealized profit levels since mid 2025, CryptoQuant's analysis shows. The move may put a shadow on further bullish aspirations, as a section of analysts had already been predicting that this was a bull trap. As Bitcoin continues to enjoy its relatively long stint above the $80k price level, there are growing indicators that the cryptocurrency could face selling pressure once again.

Based on the graph, the premier cryptocurrency's unrealized profit has risen sharply over the last 30 days. So much so that it mirrors the situation in June 2025, when the cryptocurrency was in the middle of a major bull market. The way it happened was that the cryptocurrency dumped hard in the last quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, going as low as $60k in the process.

Ripple CEO Teases “Something Special” for XRP Holders in Possible IPO As Bulls Target $12 Mega Run
Ripple chief Brad Garlinghouse has fueled fresh speculation within the XRP community after hinting that XRP holders could receive “something special” if his company eventually moves forward with plans to become a publicly traded company.

The comments were made during a recent appearance on the Crypto in America podcast hosted by journalist Eleanor Terrett, where Garlinghouse discussed the possibility of a future IPO for Ripple. He, however, emphasized that the company is not currently prioritizing a public listing.

During the interview, Terrett highlighted criticism that Ripple has grown into a major private-company success story, while holders of XRP remain financially distinct from the company’s equity structure and do not directly participate in its corporate ownership.

Garlinghouse noted that Ripple was most recently valued at around $50 billion in a share buyback, a figure that has further intensified debate over whether the company’s growth should more directly benefit holders of XRP.

When asked whether Ripple had considered an XRP token buyback—an idea recently floated by some industry figures as a way to allow holders to share in the company’s success—Garlinghouse stopped short of endorsing any near-term plan. Instead, he stressed that Ripple’s role in the ecosystem is indirect but foundational, pointing to its focus on developing products, infrastructure, and institutional partnerships designed to enhance the utility, liquidity, and overall trust surrounding XRP.
“I hope XRP holders feel like they are benefiting from Ripple’s existence by virtue of what we’re doing to try to catalyze things within the XRP community,” Garlinghouse posited.

The seizure and subsequent deposit into a government wallet mark a routine step in the U.S. government’s process of managing and liquidating forfeited digital assets. The transfer to Coinbase Prime, a platform commonly used by institutional clients, suggests the government may be preparing to auction or otherwise convert these holdings into fiat currency.The U.S. government has increasingly become a significant holder of cryptocurrency through seizures related to criminal investigations. Agencies such as the Department of Justice, the FBI, and the IRS regularly confiscate digital assets from illicit activities, including drug trafficking, ransomware attacks, and fraud schemes. These assets are then stored in government-controlled wallets before being auctioned off in bulk sales or transferred to exchanges for liquidation. The Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) led the outflows at $129 million, while BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) followed with $98 million in outflows, according to Farside.

The sharp reversal in Bitcoin ETF flows came amid heightened Bitcoin volatility. Bitcoin rose above $82,000 on Wednesday before falling below the key $80,000 level the next day.

Crypto Giant Coinbase In The Red: Q1 Losses Mount 
On Thursday, crypto exchange Coinbase (COIN) disclosed its first-quarter (Q1) results, which had impact on its stock valuation. COIN shares ended the session down around 5% at $192 per share following the company’s earnings report. 

This marked the second consecutive quarterly loss for the exchange, although the quarter itself was characterized by extreme conditions, including major volatility spikes and a 50% decline in Bitcoin’s (BTC) price from its all-time highs

For the quarter, Coinbase posted a net loss of $394.1 million, or $1.49 per share. This compared with a profit of $65.6 million, or $0.24 per share, in the year-ago period. 

The company also reported weakness in areas tied to its trading ecosystem. Revenue from the subscription and services unit—which includes businesses outside of trading—fell 13.5% to $583.5 million in the first quarter. 

Overall earnings before certain adjustments were made, as measured by adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA), dropped to $303.3 million, down from $929.9 million a year earlier.
