CEO Nathan McCauley said the system assigns AI agents verified identities, spending limits, and audit controls to meet compliance requirements. The rollout includes a Google Cloud partnership, as firms like Coinbase and the Solana Foundation expand tools for AI-driven payments using stablecoins. According to Anchorage Digital co-founder and CEO Nathan McCauley, the new infrastructure equips AI agents with direct access to financial rails while operating under predefined controls designed for institutional use.  In a recent X post, McCauley said that the system enables agents to transact across both fiat-linked systems and blockchain networks. Anchorage stated that each AI agent will be assigned a verifiable identity, along with spending limits, permissions, and policy controls that govern how funds can be used. Auditability features have been built into the system to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, particularly as institutions begin to test automation across treasury and payment functions.  McCauley noted that existing financial systems were not designed for non-human actors, even as companies increasingly automate operational workflows. The core problem is structural. American Bitcoin’s average cost to mine one Bitcoin sits at approximately $68,000 per coin, against a spot price that briefly touched $81,425, leaving a razor-thin margin that evaporates the moment energy costs spike or hashrate efficiency lags.

The firm’s fleet efficiency stands at 18 J/TH, compared to Marathon Digital’s 14 J/TH, meaning ABTC burns meaningfully more power per unit of computational work. That gap compounds daily.

Revenue dropped 41% year-over-year in Q1 2026, and operational hashrate fell from 10 EH/s to 7.2 EH/s – a 28% contraction that directly cut Bitcoin output.

The crypto market paused for breath on May 7 after a decent rally, with Bitcoin consolidating above $81,000 as geopolitical relief from Iran ceasefire optimism continued to support risk assets.

Beside, institutional infrastructure stories dominated the headlines, underscoring how traditional finance is quietly wiring itself into blockchain rails while U.S. policymakers set concrete timelines for long-awaited rules. 

Market overview 

Bitcoin opened the session hovering around $80,900–$81,100 after touching multi-month highs above $82,759 in the prior 24 hours. The total crypto market cap held steady near $2.7 trillion with modest daily fluctuations—as per CoinMarketCap data. 

Among altcoins, Ethereum traded around $2,320–$2,330, Solana near $88–$89, and XRP climbed slightly on tokenization news, hovering near $1.41. Short liquidations cooled off after yesterday’s squeeze, but on-chain signals and ETF flows kept sentiment constructive. 

Bitcoin dominance stayed elevated near 60%, while selective altcoin moves—particularly in infrastructure and RWA-related tokens—hinted at rotation rather than broad euphoria. Its trading volumes remained healthy but not explosive, reflecting a market digesting recent gains.

Ethereum is stuck below the same $2,400 resistance that has blocked its recent recovery, while charts from TedPillows and Sky show a tighter setup forming near that level. A clean breakout could open the way toward $3,000 and higher, but another rejection may send $ETH back toward lower support zones.

Ethereum Price Stalls Below $2,400 as Downside Risk Builds

Ethereum traded near $2,369 on the 2 day $ETH/USDT chart shared by TedPillows. The chart shows $ETH failing again near the $2,400 resistance zone, even as Bitcoin has shown stronger price action.

TedPillows said Ethereum remains weak until it breaks above $2,400. The chart supports that view because $ETH has tested the same red resistance area several times without a confirmed breakout.

The nearest resistance sits around $2,400 to $2,470. A stronger breakout would need $ETH to clear this zone and hold above it. After that, the next marked level appears near $2,624, followed by the larger resistance band around $2,800.

However, the chart also shows downside risk if Ethereum fails again. The nearest support sits around $2,140 to $2,180, marked by the green zone. If $ETH drops below that area, the next major support appears near $1,780, with a lower level marked around $1,693.

The white arrows on the chart show several possible paths. One path shows $ETH breaking above $2,400 and moving toward $2,624, then possibly $2,800. Another path shows $ETH rejecting from the current zone and retesting support near $2,140.

For now, Ethereum has not confirmed strength. The price remains trapped between support near $2,140 and resistance near $2,400. A clean break above $2,400 would improve the short-term structure. However, another rejection could increase pressure toward the lower support zone.
