A decisive break above the wedge resistance is needed to reverse the trend.

While looking at the PI chart, it has been sliding, carving out a falling wedge as the sellers slowly run out of steam. Its price is currently sitting at $0.08653, having steadily dropped by over 11%. It is pressing right into the apex of that wedge with the lower trendline barely holding.

Moreover, the price gets tighter and tighter, and when buyers have been quietly defending the bottom while sellers lose conviction, the break usually goes up. The chart is pointing toward a target near $0.60 if that wedge resistance cracks with volume behind it.

Utility does not save a token during a freefall. When price retraces heavily, and panic sets in, no matter how good the roadmap looks, people leave first and question it later. When confidence breaks, foundations scramble, token burns, buybacks, supply restrictions, lockup extensions.

These are damage control moves, not growth moves. They buy time, not conviction. Notably, PI needs a clean break above wedge resistance with real volume to shift the narrative. Until then, every bounce is just a move inside a downtrend.

Midnight Foundation Reopens Glacier Drop Redemption Portal for Cardano Users

The Midnight Foundation has reopened the Glacier Drop redemption portal after completing a security review caused by an incident involving a subset of Cardano wallets connected to SecondFi.

In a recent update, the Foundation confirmed that Glacier Drop redemptions resumed on June 9 at 17:00 UTC. This ended a temporary suspension introduced as a precautionary measure last month.

Security Review Confirms Glacier Drop Platform Remains Safe

The Foundation paused NIGHT token redemptions last month after reports emerged that EMURGO’s SecondFi platform had suffered a security breach. During the attack, hackers stole 16 million ADA from 374 wallets, prompting the Foundation to temporarily close the Glacier Drop redemption portal while it investigated whether the incident posed any risk to Glacier Drop participants.

Following its assessment, the Foundation confirmed that the Glacier Drop redemption infrastructure remains secure and unaffected by the SecondFi exploit.

As a result, all NIGHT tokens that completed their thawing process during the suspension are now immediately available for eligible users to redeem. The Foundation also stressed that the precautionary pause did not alter the Glacier Drop distribution schedule. This ensures participants remain on the original redemption timeline.

Glacier Drop Redemption Schedule Remains Unchanged

For context, the Foundation launched the Glacier Drop portal in August 2025 to distribute NIGHT tokens through a phased redemption model. Under this mechanism, allocated NIGHT tokens gradually thaw and become redeemable in four equal quarterly installments, with 25% unlocking during each phase.

The first redemption window ran from December 10, 2025, to March 9, 2026, followed by the second phase between March 10 and June 7, 2026.

Liquidity often separates a market bottom from a prolonged bear phase.

The logic is simple: During a risk-off market, capital can either move to the sidelines or leave the crypto ecosystem altogether.

Understanding the difference between these two behaviors is key to identifying whether the market is approaching a bottom or entering a deeper bear phase. 

Notably, this is where the latest stablecoin flows come into focus. As the chart below shows, the stablecoin market cap has fallen by nearly $10 billion since May, with $7.7 billion leaving in June alone, marking the largest monthly contraction since the Terra-Luna collapse in May 2022. 

In other words, the crypto market has seen two straight months of liquidity leaving the ecosystem, with June posting the biggest stablecoin outflow in four years.

That’s a strong sign the market remains firmly in a risk-off phase, drawing clear parallels with the liquidity conditions seen during the 2022 bear market. 

From a technical perspective, this liquidity contraction lined up with Bitcoin’s 3.6% correction in May and a 20.45% decline in June.

Together, these signals suggest BTC’s current correction is looking less like a bottoming process and more like the type of liquidity-driven weakness that defined the 2022 bear cycle. 

The next question is whether that trend is starting to change.

At roughly $20 billion at current prices, that position puts Tether near sovereign-scale territory. If it were a central bank, it would rank just outside the top 20 globally by gold reserves.For a while, Tether stacked bullion as a hedge against dollar exposure, a bet on macro instability, a reserve-diversification move. Then on June 18, Ledn announced it would add XAUT as eligible collateral on its platform, with gold-backed loans denominated in USDT and Tether's newer USAT token expected to go live later in 2026.
