BTC-e Co-Founder Alexander Vinnik Seeks Release Through Prisoner Swap

According to The Wall Street Journal, Alexander Vinnik, co-founder of BTC-e, is seeking to be released through a prisoner swap. Vinnik, a Russian citizen, is currently being held in the United States and was charged in 2017 for money laundering and allegedly aiding ransomware attacks, identity theft schemes, and drug trafficking through BTC-e. Vinnik's lawyer argued that he should be allowed to respond to the accusations and advocate for his inclusion in a prisoner exchange.
