Token burning is a supply-side mechanism designed to reduce circulating tokens and, in many cases, create upward pressure on price through scarcity. However, JST has not followed this pattern.

In the past day, the protocol executed a token burn that reduced circulating supply by approximately 3%, or about 271.3 million JST tokens. At current valuations, this represents roughly $20.7 million removed from circulation, a significant contraction in market supply.

Despite this, price action weakened further.

In response, Justin Sun, founder of JUST, confirmed that the project’s treasury balance now exceeds $100 million. He described the burn as part of a quarterly reduction strategy, with additional burns expected in future cycles.

While this signals continued commitment to supply reduction, the immediate market reaction highlights how token burns alone do not guarantee bullish price movement.

​Crypto analyst Captain Faibik has pointed out that despite Bitcoin's recent rebound, the overall price structure remains extremely bearish. Previously, as Bitcoin’s price gained upward momentum, market sentiment shifted temporarily; last week, Bitcoin successfully broke through the key resistance level of $70,000, flipping it into a new support level. While most investors have since moved into the bullish camp, Faibik maintains a cautious and skeptical stance, arguing that the current uptrend is a short-term phenomenon that unlikely changes the long-term bearish outlook.
​The $73,000 Retracement
Last week, Bitcoin saw a massive rally, surging over 5% and only pulling back after hitting the $73,000 resistance mark. Following weeks of negative sentiment, this rebound naturally ignited optimism and provided much-needed relief to investors who had suffered significant losses.
​The Bearish Case Amidst Optimism
Despite the widespread optimism, Captain Faibik believes this move is not worth excessive celebration and insists on a highly conservative position. He judges that while the current upward trend may still have room to run—potentially reaching a peak between $77,000 and $78,000 due to liquidity in that zone—there are no other clear signals suggesting a definitive bullish reversal.
​The Risk of a 20% Correction
The analyst suggests that once Bitcoin completes its "liquidity grab" in that higher range, the subsequent move is likely to be downward, potentially triggering a 20% correction. According to his analysis, this could drive prices back down to the $54,000–$56,000 range. If this occurs, it would mean the digital asset could hit new lows for the current cycle, decisively breaking the critical $60,000 support level.

To represent the market sentiment, the metric makes use of a numerical scale running from zero to hundred. All values on this scale that lie below 47 correspond to a net sentiment of fear, while those above 53 suggest the dominance of greed among investors. Naturally, the values lying between these two cutoffs imply a neutral mentality.

Besides these three main zones, there are also two ‘extreme’ regions called the extreme fear (25 and under) and extreme greed (above 75). Historically, these two have held significance for the market as they have been where major tops and bottoms have tended to form.

The relationship between prices and sentiment has been an inverse one, however, with tops appearing during extreme greed and bottoms alongside extreme fear.

Recently, the crypto sector has been stuck in the latter of the two, as the below chart shows.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei is set to enter the West Wing on Friday for a meeting with White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, in what could mark a turning point in the company’s dispute with the Pentagon over its advanced AI systems, Axios reported.

The Trump administration is weighing the significance of Anthropic’s Claude model, Mythos, a new frontier AI model focused on cybersecurity.

Mythos is seen as highly advanced and potentially capable of breaching cybersecurity defenses. The AI system, unveiled earlier this month, can scan software, detect serious security flaws, and even figure out how those flaws could be exploited, often with minimal human input.

The latest development comes as Anthropic continues its lawsuit against the Pentagon after being blacklisted for refusing to allow unrestricted use of its AI.

Anthropic had drawn two firm lines. Its models would not be used for mass domestic surveillance. And they would not power fully autonomous weapons systems. These have been core to the company’s identity since its founding in 2021, when a group of researchers left OpenAI specifically because they believed AI development needed stronger ethical boundaries.

After the Pentagon blacklisted Anthropic, the company filed suit. A federal appeals court rejected its initial bid to block the blacklist, but the legal battle continues.

Meanwhile, Anthropic pivoted to a parallel political strategy, hiring Ballard Partners, a lobbying firm with deep ties to Trump’s inner circle.

​Since the fourth quarter of 2025, Bitcoin has faced significant declines alongside the broader crypto market, directly impacting this steadfast group. The "Unrealized Loss" metric measures the total loss currently held by investors whose purchase price was higher than the current spot price.
​Relative Unrealized Loss Trends
To better understand the magnitude, analysts look at the Relative Unrealized Loss, which expresses these losses as a percentage of the total Bitcoin market capitalization.
​Current Status: The 30-day Simple Moving Average (SMA) of this indicator has risen to 14%. This means the "Diamond Hands" of the market are currently holding losses equal to 14% of Bitcoin’s total value—the highest level seen since 2023.
​Historical Context: While 14% is significant, historical data shows that bear market bottoms typically see much higher pain levels. In previous cycles, this metric peaked at approximately 70% during the absolute market floor.
​The Bottom Line
While it is uncertain if this cycle requires the same level of capitulation, the fact that relative losses remain significantly below historical "bottom" levels suggests that the market may not have reached a point of maximum exhaustion yet.
